EP REVIEW - DANNY McMAHON - BOYS DON'T CRY

This Friday (24th May) will see British singer-songwriter, Danny McMahon release his new EP, Boys Cry Too. Boys Cry Too features 4 songs.
All 4 songs on Boys Cry Too were written by Danny but track 3 was co-written with Daniel Evans.
Boys Cry Too was recorded at Puzzle Maker Studio in Bristol.

Everything starts a little slow but it works so well as Danny comes in with his softer vocal range which suits the tone of the song. Everything's first verse is very heartfelt and it shows within Danny's vocal range and I abousltely adore that. The chorus is completely stunning and it shows within Danny's vocals how much the song lyrics mean to him. The second verse continues the storytelling so fabulously well and you can really feel the emotion that Danny is feeling along with there being something so magically adore Danny's vocal and lyrical ability!
I adore this song and this is the standout song of this EP for me.

Boys Don't Cry start with a slow tempo instrumental which works well for the softer vocal range from Danny within the first line. The first verse is magical and so open which you can tell how much Danny connects with the lyrics that he is singing. The chorus is super catchy and one I felt myself wanting to sing along with right from the start. The second verse is so beautiful and so open for a boy/ man to write about how they feel and Danny has done it in which a clever and wonderful way that I hope many boys will listen too this song.

When I See You starts with beautiful guitar instrumental which gives the song such a wonderful vibe from the off and is perfect for the whole song. Danny then comes in with his super soft vocals which are just stunning throughout. The chorus of When I See You is very heartfelt and has such a strong emotional side which allows us the listeners that perfect time to think about our loved ones!
The three verses feature some amazingly heartfelt lyrics that allow us as the listeners to relate too - either it's happening to us now or it has happened to us in the past so thank you for being brave enough! Danny's vocal tone is perfect which allows the lyrics to shine throughout.
You can hear that Dan has written When I See You straight from his heart, a lot of credit has to go to Dan Evans for his such a fantastic song-writing ability on this song!

Pushing My Hands Down starts with beautiful piano instrumental and a uptempo vocal from Danny. Danny has definitely chosen the right song to take it uptempo with, the lyrics within all three verses are beautiful and so moving. Danny's vocal range is demonstrated wonderfully throughout Pushing My Hands Down wonderfully. The second verse of Pushing My Hands Down got to me in particular and I felt myself connecting to parts of the song which was wonderfully.
