DOCTOR TODD RETURNS TO EMMERDALE

Set to reprise her role in Emmerdale is Caroline Harker as Doctor Todd in a compelling new storyline exploring workplace bullying and power dynamics with Caroline returning to the Yorkshire Dales based soap for an extended run as Doctor Todd who is the boss to trainee doctor, Jacob Sugden. While Jacob is a bright and ambitious young doctor, his professional world is about to become a battleground.

This February, Emmerdale will shine a spotlight on the troubling reality of workplace bullying as Doctor Todd returns with a vengeance, quick to find fault and relentlessly criticises her enthusiastic trainee.

The storyline will delve into Jacob's struggle to manage his work-life balance under the immense pressure of his overbearing boss. The stakes are raised further when Doctor Todd installs herself in the village, blurring the lines between Jacob's professional and private life. Storylines like this really do need highlighting.

When speaking about her return, Caroline Harker commented “I’m delighted to be back at Emmerdale for a longer stint playing Doctor Todd. She’s a complex character and from what I’ve been told so far, quite a tricky one for Jacob to navigate. Workplace bullying is commonplace, and it will be interesting to see it brought to our screens in a serial drama such as Emmerdale.”

Emmerdale Producer Laura Shaw added: “We are looking forward to seeing the machinations of someone like Caitlin Todd, and it’s not just at the hospital where she will start to make an impression. Caroline is a fabulous actor and brings such great experience to this role - we can’t wait for her to play out what we have planned for the character.”

Emmerdale airs Monday - Friday at 8pm on ITV1, and YouTube, and ITVX from 7am.

EASTENDERS REVIEW: A ROLLERCOASTER OF A WEEK FOR LAUREN AND PETER AS BEX RETURNED

This week's episodes of EastEnders saw Peter Beale propose to his pregnant girlfriend, Lauren Branning who declined, however for me I personally think this is a great choice but the week continued to take the pair on an emotional rollercoaster. The fact that the week's episodes started with Peter Beale missing the baby scan, you could see Lauren Branning was in for an emotional week and honestly if any character needs support its Lauren! With Peter continuing to focus on his mum, Cindy Beale instead of Lauren really frustrated me. As much as I like Peter and Lauren as a couple in the show, I have to say Lauren choosing to turn down his proposal in Tuesday's episode (1st April) after everything that happened previously with Cindy Beale over Christmas with Lauren thinking that she was the one that injured her, and Peter doubting his girlfriend, where is the trust?
