INTERVIEW WITH JACOB ROBERTS AS OPENS UP ABOUT HIS CHARACTER

Image
Since his arrival on the cobbles of Weatherfield, Coronation Street viewers have seen Kit revealed as Bernie Winter's son who she gave up for adoption. During next week's episodes, viewers will see Kit introduce himself to his brother and sister, Gemma and Paul Winter, but how will the twins react to the news?  It's all going to be a big shock to them, however, I think it will make for some interesting scenes. Talking about Kit being reluctant to start a relationship with his mum, Jacob Roberts who plays Kit said:  "He is still very angry, he doesn’t want anything to do with her. As far as he is aware she abandoned him twice, once when he was born and then again when he was 20 and he arranged to meet her and she didn’t show up. He has a lot of unresolved issues." Kit decides to go around to flat speaking about what happens, Jacob adds: "He wants to tell Gemma and Paul his version of events. He wants them to know how their mum abandoned him and kept his exist

INTERVIEW WITH HALLE KEARNS AS SHE RELEASES HER BRAND NEW EP, QUARTER LIFE CRISIS

Image
Today's (Friday 21st June) interview is with Halle Kearns which supports the release of her Quarter Life Crisis EP, a few weeks ago I caught up with  Halle Kearns as she releases this magical EP. Hello Halle, Congratulations on Quarter Life Crisis being released today - how are you feeling about it? I am so genuinely excited to have a new project out. Singles are so fun, but watching all of them come together to create a piece of work always feels super rewarding! Can you please tell us about how you decided on the 6 songs for the EP? Each of the 6 songs pull from different emotions and circumstances that come with being in a quarter-life-crisis. It felt like each song served its own purpose in relaying the overall message of the EP’s theme! You played a selection of these shows during your visit to London for C2C back in March, how was that for you? C2C was one of my favorite musical experiences I’ve had to date. I cannot wait to come back and play in London again! You take listen

EP REVIEW - HALLE KEARNS - QUARTER LIFE CRISIS

Image
Today (Friday 21st June), US country pop singer-songwriter,  Halle Kearns  releases her brand new EP, Quarter Life Crisis. Quarter Life Crisis EP begins with an electric guitar, drum instrumental for  Clothes on the Line  which is filled with a lot of warmth and memories. The chorus is filled with a message about how things change as well as our perspectives as we grow up and learn how to appreciate the little moments in our lives. The lyrics are rather powerful at times. The Boot  is filled with some proper 90's country vibes with the chorus being the standout part of the song due to the lyrics allowing as listeners into the love story feel as you can hear so much vulnerability. The verses connect together wonderfully as a lot of love is shared between them. One thing I like about 'The Boot' is the fact that the song can have two different meaning making for some interesting listening. Halle's soft tone is everything! Up next is  High School Friends beginning with Hall

SINGLE REVIEW - BRANTLEY GILBERT FEATURING ASHLEY COOKE - OVER WHEN WE'RE SOBER

Image
Today (Friday 21st June), Brantley Gilbert and  Ashley Cooke  are releasing a duet called Over When We're Sober. Over When We're Sober is released via The Valory Music Co. Photo Credit:  The Valory Music Co. Over When We're Sober  begins with Brantley singing some heartfelt lyrics that see him remembering that one person you miss but knowing that you are wrong for one another at the same time - it's the little details. The chorus is beautiful as Brantley and Ashley Cooke's vocals blend very well together, and are perfect for the very sad meaning. Ashley taking the lead in the second verse is delivered from a female perspective with sad realisation, and the final verse is an emotional one. Overall, Over When We're Sober is a powerful song especially as the softer vocals coming in at the end. You can follow Ashley on her Social Media X Instagram Facebook Website

Image
During next week's visit to Hollyoaks, viewers will see Frankie Osborne set to come home from hospital following her falling down the stairs, however with Frankie still scared Darren Osborne asks her mum, Suzanne Ashworth to move in with them. With Charlie and Oscar Osborne visiting Frankie in hospital as Nancy enters demanding the truth about what happened on the night of the accident, but in true soap style its not long until someone borrows the laptop and discovers a video...  Later in the week, Frankie is ecstatic to learn that she has been accepted into the dance college  - Frankie worked so hard for this and deserves good news! Photo Credit: Lime Pictures/ Hollyoaks As Oscar opens up to Frankie, she admits that she is scared of her brother, JJ.  This is must be so hard to admit and something Hollyoaks are delivering with such care. Towards the end of the week as Frankie is preparing to go to the police to admit that truth, JJ makes her a promise.  I really hope Frankie admits

SINGLE REVIEW - KATY HURT - OH GIRL

Image
Today (Friday 7th June) sees singer-songwriter, Katy Hurt release her brand new single, Oh Girl. Oh Girl  begins with Katy's crisp vocal allows for some vulnerability to be at the forefront which honestly made me very emotional. The honesty within the first verse especially is so raw, it's quite beautiful. As someone who recently left their job off 12 years to start over I instantly connected with the moments of letting go and starting over even though it's difficult. The journey Oh Girl takes you on is one I appreciate as you hear how much you want them to let people in to help them, however, sometimes those walls are super hard to break down. Katy's vocal tone is perfectly pitched throughout and the songwriting is rather poignant and I am loving this side of who Katy is as an artist! HELEN WORTH SET TO LEAVE CORONATION STREET

Image
I can't believe I am sharing this news as Gail Platt now Rodwell is one of the characters I remember from my childhood after  Coronation Street announced that Helen Worth will be leaving the cobbles later this year. Helen will celebrate her golden anniversary on the show next month, and will be a momentous occasion for her in more ways than one. With Helen celebrating 50 years on the cobbles, she will also be looking forward to a very different future after Helen has made the very difficult decision to step down from playing Gail Rodwell at the end of the year.  I feel emotional as I am writing and sharing this news. After half a century from the moment she walked onto the cobbles for the very first time, viewers will see Helen and Gail bid farewell in a major storyline for the Platt family.  I'll be sure to have the tissues ready when from the moment comes, it'll be interesting to see how the storyline airs whatever it is. Image
With some of the females of the Coronation Street set to take centre stage this month, Tina O'Brien, Lucy Fallon and Alison King talk about what's to come for their characters as well as what it is like to work on the Manchester based soap. When asked about what it's like to work on the show, Alison King said: "The people, everyone must have said that! Our team is a family, my brothers and sisters are here really, people may come and go but they always remain. I've made so many friends it’s a dream really. It's definitely the people and obviously as an actor getting to play something different every day and practice my art, that is incredible for me." Carla has many different sides, but when asked about what is it about her that you love to play?  "I like playing all Carla Connor’s unexpected, varied sides. She's got so many sides to her and I think she tries to grow as a person but ultimately her core is fiery and fearless. She is vulnerable, sh
