DEBUT ALBUM REVIEW - LIV AUSTEN - A MOMENT OF YOUR TIME

This Friday (19th October) will see Liv Austen release her debut album, A Moment Of Your Time.
A Moment Of Your Time is made up of 12 songs which Liv has written/ co-written all expect one which shows us what an amazing singer/ songwriter she is.

'There is something rather special and unique about Liv and this album.'

Miss Nobody is the perfect song to open Liv's debut album with, with it's funky upbeat instrumental with Liv's softer vocal tone with a lot of meaning. The lyrics which Liv has chosen for this song are very personally and based on a past experience. The chorus is very funky and catchy that you can't help but sing a lot with. Adore the fact that Liv is determined to bring the fun out within this song which I am very excited for people to hear this song and hear Liv's meaningful side. I can't help but also think that this song will relate with so many people. Miss Nobody was co-written with Jessica Sharman.

The Next Time
is one of my favourite singles from Liv. Love the catchy lyrics which starts the song of magical. The instrumental is amazing throughout and the loudness changing to suit Liv's vocals is just insanely creative. The chorus is very catchy and one I feel myself singing along too. Liv's vocal tone is stunning throughout and I love the fact that she knows how to get the emotions out perfectly to take the song to the next level. I also like the fact that you at times can find yourself dancing along. The Next Time is an exteremly relatable song with so much power. The Next Time was co-written with Jessica Sharman.

Don't Regret A Single One was my favourite song prior to hearing this whole album which is just incredible. I adore the funky upbeat instrumental from the drums and guitar which starts the song off. The lyrics are catchy that I felt myself singing along with right from the start. The message within Don't Regret A Single One is nothing but beautiful and one that is relatable because if we are honest we have only been there. You can feel that Liv has written this song based on personal experience but her deciding to share it shows us how brave she is and that she has learnt from it and wanted to make such a fun and funky song from it.

Want It More
has a more upbeat instrumental given off by the electric guitar at the start. You can feel within the first verse Liv's softer more emotional tone along with her showing her vulnerability honestly. Want It More is a song that gets you thinking about that past relationship that you wanted more than anything in the world but with Liv's higher upbeat vocal tone nearer the end is wonderful. The lyrics are incredibly honest and the fact that Liv isn't afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve when it comes to her releasing music. The instrumental complaints Liv's vocals so well and it's magical to see. I am so excited to hear this song live.

Train of Thought is a quick snappy song which is very different to every other song on this album. But I adore the funky, upbeat and incredible instrumental blending in so incredibly well with Liv's vocal tone in the first verse and chorus. The second verse is a little softer with meaningful lyrics that I felt myself relating with. You can hear the chorus is based on personal experience and I love how relatable the lyrics are and you can't tell me everyone hasn't let their train of thought at one point in their lives or another! Train of Thought was co-written with Jessica Sharman - there is something so magical and something rather unique about this song. This song is by far my favourite of this album.

Window Shopping is a very sassy song and one that shows us the fun loving side of Liv's song-writing thanks to Kaity Rae co-writing. I adore the funky backing track that makes you wanna get up and dance from the start. I love the chorus because of the super fun lyrics and can you imagine the window we could get for the chorus alone? The verses are based on having fun and enjoying yourself and the lyrics definitely stick in your heads and songs you feel yourself enjoying in on right from the start are wonderful songs - PERFECT for the Summer and a road trip anthem for sure! You can feel that Window Shopping is based on Social Media relationships and just looking at just photos of people before you have meet them and real connections are clearly being missed sadly.

Whole Heart has a very funky beat to start with many different instrumentals before Liv's deeper vocal join to suit the lyrics, I am admire Liv so much for doing a song like this! You can hear the emotionally pain behind the lyrics featured in the chorus. All three verses seem to be based on personal experience and I could I emotional listening to this because the lyrics related to a recent situation I have been in but thank you for doing so honest on this song. The bridge is so upbeat and gives the song much more meaning which I just adore. This is one song I am very excited about hearing live because you could have so much fun with it. This song has my whole heart!

Detour is a darker sounding song with a beautiful instrumental solo to start Detour off. Detour is every different from any other song on the album so far yet it works amazingly well. Detour gets you thinking right off with it's super meaningful lyrics from the heart. I adore Liv's honesty when writing this song, it might have taken a lot of guts to write a song like this! The chorus is so simply and beautiful with the raw honesty you get from Liv's soulful meaning of the lyrics. I like the fact that after the first chorus there are drums added to give the song a little more of an edgy rocky feel - works wonderfully. The last verse is a little more upbeat and this makes the song sound current which is just magical. Detour gives me a little 'Evanescence' feel from when I was growing up (and I mean this in a good way!)

Part Time Sweetheart has such a funky upbeat tone which suits the album amazingly and the pop vibes are perfect. The lyrics are upbeat and have such fun vibes given for. Liv's fun vocal tone is incredible giving the song so much life. The chorus features some of the most fun and funky lyrics which are exteremly catchy. Perfect song for a road trip with the windows open. Part Time Sweetheart is definitely a night club kind of anthem that comes you wanna get up and dance too! Part Time Sweetheart is the only song on this album not written or co-written by Liv.
Part Time Sweetheart was written by Claydon Connor.

A Moment of Your Time has such a funky pop vibe given off from the instruments at the start. The first verse is stunning and leads into the chorus beautiful with the lyrics being so catchy and current with Liv's wonderful country/ pop vocals making the song go to the next level. The meaningfulness behind the lyrics in all the verses is gorgeous and I adore the fun vibes Liv is given off with this song. The guitar instrumental suits this song beautiful and I love the softer and harder playing where needed and it gives the song so much life. A Moment of Your Time has such a current feel which I love and one I am very excited to hear played on the radio and live.
A Moment of Your Time was co-written with Jon Wright.

Nothing Less, Nothing More has a softer instrumental to start supporting Liv's softer vocals amazingly. The lyrics are incredible give such a fun and funky pop vibe which I just love. I also like how Liv's vocals change based on the emotions she is feeling when singing but in the second verse you get such a wonderful fun funkier vibe which takes the song up a notch. The meaningfulness of the lyrics is just gorgeous because you can't help but feel emotional at times thanks to the rawness and honesty from Liv's writing. Liv's vocals are at another level on this song.
Nothing Less, Nothing More was co-written with Emily Faye.

But I Know, I Love Him is such a wonderful song to close Liv's debut album with showcasing everything Liv is about. The simple piano intro has such a current vibe to it which is just beautiful for supporting Liv's softer vocals that features a lot of emotion which stays throughout allowing Liv to shine! All the lyrics in But I Know, I Love Him are very emotional and written from the heart based on what sounds to be a personal experience. Getting to hear Liv's softer vocals on this song is just incredible and allows everyone to hear what an incredible musician she is - there is something rather special and unique about Liv! This is the song that I am most excited for people to hear.

'If this album shows us anything its how much of an incredible musician Liv is!'
