REVIEW OF ASHLEY COOKE'S 24 TRACK DEBUT ALBUM - SHOT IN THE DARK

Image
Rising Country Singer-Songwriter, Ashley Cooke who is signed to Big Loud Records/ Back Blocks Music is releasing her DEBUT ALBUM, shot in the dark out TODAY (Friday 21st July). shot in the dark is made up of 24 tracks. Tastes Like has a proper country feel reminding me of the exact reason, I feel in love with the genre in the first place. I like the energy from the upbeat lyrics which are also so much fun. The chorus continues with the fun times within the lyrics that I think many people will be able to relate with. The way that the chorus brings every single verse together is great and cleverly done throughout. When the second verse kicks in you get the moment that relationship ended remembering why as you go over every single little detail. The final verse is a little slower but the fun verse of the song. Tastes Like is the perfect karaoke song in my opinion. It's Been A Year  opens with a guitar instrumental that compliments the song throughout beautifully. The first verse sees

EMMERDALE REVIEW - DAN SHOWED HIS VULNERABILITY

Image
Over the past few weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen a different side of Dan Spencer following his daughter, Amelia's social media ordeal which has allowed for a different side of the character's development to be shown. It's obvious to me and many other viewers that all Dan Spencer has ever wanted to do was protect Amelia, but the way he said some harsh things to her in Tuesday's episode (11th July) saw the vulnerability in both characters. It was during Wednesday's episode (12th July) where Dan said "you have every right to be online" was a moment I caught myself a little emotional over as it reminded me of my own experience once again - it's clear how much Dan cares about his daughter and just wants what's best for her like parents do. The way that parents want their children to hear the truth, sometimes isn't the best way to do but on the other side sometimes it just needs to be said. There was many times during this week that I felt for Am

EP REVIEW - ALANA SPRINGTEEN - TWENTY SOMETHING: FIRGURING IT OUT

Image
Columbia Records NY/ Sony Music Nashville artist-songwriter, Alana Springsteen today (Friday 14th July) releases her second installment of Twenty Something: Figuring It Out. Twenty Something: Figuring It Out is made up of 6 songs. Twenty Something  has a soft guitar instrumental that compliments the song fantastically. The first verse sees Alana's soft crisp vocal tone that allows for the songs sentimental lyrics to shine through. The story within the lyrics is beautiful and reminded me of my adult years and the mistakes, I took and still am making as I hit 30 later this year, but thanks to songs like this it makes you realise that life is a journey and mistakes are all apart of that especially within the songs key lyrics. The lyrics are brilliantly selected and show a growth as we get older, beginning to realise that mistakes are ok to be made. The second verse is about the regrets that you made, but in all honesty they are the biggest lessons learnt making me rather emotional. T

EP REVIEW - TRACK 45 - GREW UP ON

Image
This Friday (14th July) will see Mississippi-born, but Nashville based sibling trio,  Track 45  release their brand new EP, Grew Up On. Grew Up On is made up of 6 tracks. Drinkin' and Thinkin'  has an upbeat instrumental to kick start this EP off wonderfully. The female vocal opening the song is great as it gives the song this different kind of feel that I personally love with the lyrics being fantastic as well. With the chorus having a rather sad twist to it about a break up, it would appear to me, however, it was one that got me loving the sassy energy. The second verse sees their happiness start to appear once again before a little more heartache. I love how the chorus manages to always bring the song full circle especially as the final verse sees Ben, Jenna, and KK's vocals blend wonderfully together. Grew Up On  begins with a nostalgic feel with the softer old school kind of feel with a lot of vulnerability within the first verse is stunning with some emotional vocals.

SINGLE REVIEW - ELERI - LIVE WIRE

Tomorrow (Wednesday 12th July)  will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter,  Eleri  release her latest single, Live Wire. Live Wire has old style love story kind of feel which I really like as it's very different from Eleri's normal kind of release - as a proper festival vibe with the instrumental. There is something so captivating about the songs lyrics and melody that keeps you hooked throughout. I love Eleri's attention to detail within her vocal tone especially with the softer crisp moments showing what a great songwriter she is! There is also something that shout out about being a great road trip song. As Live Wire continues the difference in the artistry from Eleri after the past few releases, the old school feel is fantastic and I am so proud of Eleri for this change. The storytelling of a love story and the hard times you go do to make the relationship work. You can follow Eleri on her Social Media Twitter Instagram Facebook Website

WHY AMY WALSH RETURNING TO EMMERDALE WAS BRILLIANT TIMING

This week's episodes have seen Amy Walsh return to the role as Tracy Metcalfe following the actress' maternity leave. At the start of the week, viewers saw Tracy Metcalfe return to the Emmerdale Village, but in typical soap style it wasn't straight forward as she was spotted at the registry office unaware to Cain and Moira Dingle that Tracy was actually there for her own wedding to Cain's son, Nate Robinson.  If anyone knows me you will know how much I have wanted these two characters back together, and said how much I'd love Tracy's return to feature her wedding to Nate. Tracy's wedding dress was beautiful and it is fantastic to see Amy Walsh back where she belongs! In obvious soap style it doesn't go to plan as back in the village, Tracy and Nate were back in the playground speaking with Cain and Moira when Cain got an idea of how to make it up to them for ruining their plans with Charles Anderson agreeing to bless their marriage.  It's nice to see
