SINGLE REVIEW - KEZIA GILL - HOUSE ON THE HILL

Image
Today (Friday 31st March) will see British singer-songwriter,  Kezia Gill  release her brand new single, House On The Hill. Photo Credit: Little Ninja House on the Hill  starts with a rocky instrumental opening the song up fantastically. The first verse showcases Kezia's crisp vocal tones with lyrics that instantly got me thinking about how much I can relate with the storytelling developing into the only way I know how. I love the catchy moments throughout the song that makes me want to get up and dance. The chorus is gorgeous and filled with so much honesty and growth that got me thinking and about how much I have achieved in life even if you sometimes doubt your ability and growth especially when our lives get hard due to the older we get with the more challenges we face. The chorus links into every single verse of the song incredibly well. The second verse sees a change direction a little and showcase Kezia's gorgeous honest tone thanks to the many experiences of life - whet

SINGLE REVIEW - TIGIRLILY GOLD - BLONDE

Image
Today (Friday 24th March) will see Tigirlily Gold  made up of sisters, Kendra and Krista release their brand new single, Blonde. Tigirlily Gold recently performed at C2C festival at the O2 Arena in London. Photo Taken By Myself at C2C Blonde  starts with a guitar instrumental from Krista which sets the tone for the song perfectly with Kendra's soft vocal tones coming in on the first verse. The first verse sees Kendra's sassy side come through that I have to say is brilliant with lyrics that are wonderfully written. Ahead of the chorus both sisters Kendra and Krista on lead vocals showcasing their fantastic harmonies and there wonderful bond with the lyrics. The storytelling within the lyrics are brilliant especially as the catchy lyrics of the song comes in thanks to the party vibes that the song comes in with - I can definitely see why people at C2C 2 weeks ago were loving this song was such an atmosphere. The second verse continues Blonde fantastically with the sassy country

INTERVIEW WITH PARIS ADAMS FOLLOWING HER SOLO PERFORMANCE AT C2C

Image
This the final interview in my C2C 2023 installment, and what a pleasure it was to talk with Paris Adams following her debut solo performance at the festival. Photo Taken By Me at C2C 2023 Hello Paris. How are you? Hi! I'm really great thanks, tired but good! You performed at C2C this weekend, how did you find it? I did! It was so good! The whole weekend felt like a blur because I had so much going on and was travelling an awful lot so it flew by really quickly but I really enjoyed myself. I had my band mates James and Rikki with me and they were really great, not just at the playing part but with helping me manage the days too which was super helpful. It was so good to see many familiar faces that I haven't seen since before COVID, including you, Kellie! Was it strange performing on your own? If it was it didn't show. Not really, I perform on my own weekly so it's something I'm used to but performing at C2C without the other girls was a tad nostalgic if anything! B

C2C SET REVIEW - ALEXANDRA KAY - THE BARRELL HOUSE

Image
On Saturday 11th March, I had the opportunity to catch independent artist,  Alexandra Kay during her performance in The Barrell House that I have to say was a beautiful venue. Photo Taken By Myself at C2C London March 2023 Alexandra started her set with Best Worst Ex that I have to say was a super sassy performance that I absolutely loved. The way that Alexandra put her all into this song was fantastic. Next up, Alexandra performed a Mash Up of 90's Country Music that I can say was nothing short of brilliant filled with a lot of country classics that had the audience singing along something us C2C audience members know how to do. Skip This Part  was a song that I loved even before I heard it live, but after hearing it up close there is so much magic within the songs lyrics that made me cry and the lyrics are filled with such appreciated, but also heartache/ heartbreak from when things go wrong. Alexandra performed How Did We Go saw herself get emotional over seeing everyone see

C2C SET REVIEW - HANNAH ELLIS - BIG ENTRANCE STAGE

Image
On Saturday 11th March, I had the opportunity to catch Hannah Ellis who for me was a new discovery of C2C during her performance at The Big Entrance Stage. Photo Taken By Myself at C2C Hannah opened her set with a song called Wine Country which is filled with many brilliant lyrics that are gorgeous. The chorus was filled of catchy things that I couldn't help but want to sing along with instantly. Next up was  Better Dig Two ,   a Little Big Town song that was the perfect song to be covered as it showed another side of who Hannah is as a person being happily married.  Somebody Else's Heartbreak  was filled with a lot of beautiful storytelling as well as having a lot of honesty within the songs lyrics and storytelling. I also caught myself finding this song relatable catching myself listening rather closely and carefully. Hannah's vocal tones were perfectly timed throughout. Karma on the rocks  was next and what an incredible song definitely one of my highlights of Hannah

C2C SET REVIEW - TIGIRLILY GOLD - ICON STAGE

Image
On Sunday 12th March, I had the opportunity to catch Tigirlily Gold made up of sisters, Kendra and Krista on The Icon Stage and my god was so glad that I did. Tigirlily Gold were one of my highlights of the weekend if I am honest. Photo Taken By Myself at C2C Tigirlily Gold  opened their set with a brand new song called  Blonde  what a fantastic way to open their set with such a great song that I can't wait for them to share. Up next was  Leroy  that oh my god had me feeling the songwriting from these talented sisters. Kendra's lead vocals were insane and their harmonies together were perfection the amount of work that these ladies put into their performance was super special. Kendra and Krista went on to cover Leona Lewis'  Bleeding Love  which was absoultely stunning such a brilliant country twist added to the song. I Put A Ring On  was my brand new favourite following Shoot Tequila obviously. You have to love a break song, it's not country without one aha. The journ

TOP 5 MOMENTS OF SUNDAY'S C2C STAGES

Image
Welcome back to my C2C 2023 series of blogs, this weekends festival is a brilliant celebration to the festivals 10 year anniversary. Following on from my Saturday highlights here are  Sunday's. C2C never fails to amaze me with the discovery of new talented and allowing us to see so many of our favourite artists over one weekend. I started my Sunday off with the brilliant  Alexandra Kay who I have to say give an even more special performance with it being her final set of the festival and what a way to end it on the Radio 2 Stage that was quickly filling up half way through her set. There was something so unique about hearing this same set as I did the previous day but the indigo sound made it even more special. Alexandra was filled with a lot of energy giving her all into every single song, but for me her cover of Blink 182's Dammit was beautiful. Photo Taken By Myself at C2C Up next was Megan McKenna  who I will admit I was a little sceptical over but within moments I was very

TOP 5 MOMENTS OF SATURDAY'S C2C STAGES

Image
Welcome back to my C2C 2023 series of blogs, this weekends festival is a brilliant celebration to the festivals 10 year anniversary, here are my Highlights of Saturday at C2C. I started my weekend off in BBC Radio 2's Stage with  Ward Thomas  made up of twin sisters, Catherine and Lizzy who I have seen many times before but every single time, I see them it's just the first time and at 10.30am on a Saturday morning it was exactly that especially as they started with In The Madness showing their beautiful harmonies as did the rest of the set. Catherine and Lizzy are just fantastic allowing each other moments to shine within their music. Photo Taken By Myself at C2C First Time Flyers  in The Barrelhouse it was absolute pleasure seeing them on their first performance at C2C to kick off Happier was played which brilliantly showcased their 4 way harmonies and throughout their set all of them had a moment to shine with their individual vocal tone. My highlight of their set was a song

WHY TONIGHT'S EMMERDALE EPISODE WAS BRILLIANT

I was debating about sharing this review of tonight's (10th March) Emmerdale episode, but I had to as the episode was one beautifully developed episode. One thing that Emmerdale do brilliantly are these special episodes and tonight's episode featuring just some of their male cast was no exception, I'll admit I was a little worried about how the episode would be delivered when I first heard about it, however, Paddy Dingle's vulnerability was shown from his very first scene as he continued to push his loved ones away. The way that Liam Cavanagh was the first to open up saw a little tear in my eye due to the character diving into that emotional side of the struggle, a few years back when he was in medical school which was a shock - what bravery those conversations bring especially with the struggles people face today. I really like it when Emmerdale manage to keep some things under wraps. Emotions were perfectly portrayed. The whole room were shocked as Paddy was hearing e

SINGLE REVIEW - JESS AND THE BANDITS - HEY GIRL

Image
Today is International Women's Day (8th March) and US singer-songwriting band,  Jess and The Bandits  released their brand new single, Hey Girl. Jess is set to perform at C2C London this weekend on Saturday 11th in Town Square (1.10pm - 1.40pm) then on the Big Entrance Stage (3pm - 3.30pm) and Sunday 12th at the Icon Stage (1pm - 1.30pm). Photo Credit: Christopher Peavey Hey Girl  starts with a soft instrumental thanks to the piano which is beautiful throughout. The first verse sees Jess's crisp vocal showcased alongside many emotionally honest lyrics that I have to admit got me a little teary as someone who is 30 later this year, the empowerment I felt within this song was overwhelming at times (I am one for being honest in my reviews!) The chorus features many empowering lyrics that I have to say had me relating too as it's ok to not have our lives planned and it's ok to live in the moment focusing on what you want in that very moment - the journey of life is very ind

SINGLE REVIEW - COLLEEN McKEE - BAND AID

Image
This Friday (10th March) will see Nashville Recording Artist,  Colleen McKee  who describes herself as a Country-Pop singer-songwriter release her brand new single, Band Aid. Band Aid  sees Colleen's crisp vocal set the tone for the song beautifully with her wonderful songwriting shining through right from the start. The vulnerability that Colleen showcases is very moving allowing for listeners to hear a different side of who Colleen is as an artist compared to her past singles over the years. I am so grateful for the change in direction Colleen with this single. The way that two different sides of the story are heard within the lyrics are beautifully delivered, but hearing the understanding was fantastic especially for a chorus as the more the song continues the more I realise that the chorus is just perfect - there is so much brilliance within the song. The second verse sees the sassiness from Colleen which is a wonderful addition with catchy lyrics that I couldn't help but s
