WHY TONIGHT'S EMMERDALE EPISODE WAS BRILLIANT

I was debating about sharing this review of tonight's (10th March) Emmerdale episode, but I had to as the episode was one beautifully developed episode.

One thing that Emmerdale do brilliantly are these special episodes and tonight's episode featuring just some of their male cast was no exception, I'll admit I was a little worried about how the episode would be delivered when I first heard about it, however, Paddy Dingle's vulnerability was shown from his very first scene as he continued to push his loved ones away.

The way that Liam Cavanagh was the first to open up saw a little tear in my eye due to the character diving into that emotional side of the struggle, a few years back when he was in medical school which was a shock - what bravery those conversations bring especially with the struggles people face today. I really like it when Emmerdale manage to keep some things under wraps. Emotions were perfectly portrayed. The whole room were shocked as Paddy was hearing everything that was being shared.

However, it was the moment that Paddy enter the lock in, in The Woolpack that the tears started to stream down my face especially when the character opened up about his struggles brutally honestly that saw such vulnerability something that Dominic Brunt does fantastically in my opinion. Bear's honesty was brilliantly shown.

The most heart-warming moment of the episode came as Cain Dingle hugged Paddy calling him a friend with Paddy's reply making me laugh.
The friendship between Marlon Dingle and Paddy was great to see as they were exactly how to be there for each other even in those times of struggle. Mark Charnock and Dominic Brunt are a brilliant duo.

It was fantastic to see so many characters that you wouldn't normally see in a scene together beautifully bought together with the mixture of honesty, laughs, and vulnerability from every character involved captured brilliantly throughout this episode.

Mark Charnock, Dominic Brunt, Jonny McPherson, Jurell Carter, Nick Miles, Jeff Hordley, Tony Audenshaw, James Hooton and Joshua Richards - what an episode to be apart of one that for me shows what an episode of males talking can do.

Martin Fustes, please take a bow for that beautifully written episode and David Kester for the brilliant camera work.

For this ongoing storyline, Emmerdale have worked with Samaritans (or are open 365 days a year on 116 123) and Andy’s Man Club who are run by volunteers and are free to attend.

Tonight's episode of Emmerdale aired on ITV at 7.30pm, but it's available to watch now on ITVX.
