Hey Girl starts with a soft instrumental thanks to the piano which is beautiful throughout.
The first verse sees Jess's crisp vocal showcased alongside many emotionally honest lyrics that I have to admit got me a little teary as someone who is 30 later this year, the empowerment I felt within this song was overwhelming at times (I am one for being honest in my reviews!)
The chorus features many empowering lyrics that I have to say had me relating too as it's ok to not have our lives planned and it's ok to live in the moment focusing on what you want in that very moment - the journey of life is very individual.

Hey Girl has an incredible story within the storytelling that I thought was very beautiful and one that will fit so many different peoples paths we call life especially with the lyrics relating to parenthood being rather heartfelt.
The final verse is one of belief and that our lives journey can be overwhelming and that is ok our feelings are valid whatever they are!
