Hello MacKenzie, Congratulations on the album, before I go into that I have to ask with you having played London last year, how did you find it? “It was such a fun experience. I can’t wait to come back! The audiences there are so invested and in it with you. The second you’ll have me back, I’m coming back to London!” You have just released your debut album, how did the songs for the album come about? “It came from me being in writer’s rooms and writing my story, and also from having some of my friends send me songs that they’ve written. FULL-LENGTH DEBUT ALBUM REVIEW - MACKENZIE PORTER - NOBODY'S BORN WITH A BROKEN HEART

Image
Today (Friday 26th April) will see Canadian singer-songwriter,  MacKenzie Porter  release her debut full-length album called Nobody's Born With A Broken Heart which is made up of 19 songs. Easy To Miss  begins with soft guitar instrumental complimenting MacKenzie's crisp tones beautifully. There is so much vulnerability with the song's lyrics. The chorus is beautifully written due to it being filled with a lot of warmth amongst all of the heartbreak. Easy To Miss is based on a lot of experience which makes for some fantastic listening with many layers thanks to its touching lyrics, the hurt you use is brilliant and great how MacKenzie has tapped into her vulnerability for this song. The softer vocal tones within the songs final verse and chorus are brilliantly beautiful. Young At Heart  is one of those songs that I think a lot of people will be able to resonate with as it's one of those songs that listeners in their 20's will get and mixed with her crisp tone ma...

SINGLE REVIEW - PRESLEY TENNANT - SOMEBODY LIKE YOU

Image
Today (Friday 19th April) will see singer-songwriter, Presley Tennant  release her latest single, Somebody Like You which is Presley's first release since 2022. Photo Credit:  Raul Esparza Somebody Like You  begins with an upbeat instrumental setting the tone for the song wonderfully. With Presley's crisp tone it's great how the lyrics right from the start allow you to have your own take on the song thinking back to that relationship or even a friendship that you thought would last and didn't. The chorus is beautifully written and listeners can hear a little vulnerability from Presley allowing for some standout moments. The second verse sees Somebody Like You take a different turn which is wonderful to hear as you see another side of who Presley is as an artist allowing for some fantastic tones to be shown. Presley definitely wears her heart on her sleeve throughout Somebody Like You. My favourite moment of the song comes in the bridge/ soft chorus as everything about i...
