Morganway are made up of brothers, Callum Morgan and Kieran Morgan, alongside Matt Brocklehurst, SJ Mortimer, Nicole J Terry and Edward Bullinger. Morganway's debut album features 11 songs. My Love Ain't Gonna Save You starts with a lovely dark sound from the moment their vocals set in but sets the tone for their album wonderful allowing them to showcase their wonderful vocal ranges and instrumental skills. The chorus is super catchy and I felt myself trying to sing along with it. All three verses of the song are amazing and have a lovely story to them and with thanks to the lyrics it is super catchy. You can definitely hear how passionate Morganway are about their music. Let Me Go has a super quirky instrumental to start the song off in the most wonderful song and set the tone for the song perfectly. SJ's vo...

NASHVILLE MEETS LONDON - SATURDAY 27TH JULY - SET REVIEW - SARAH DARLING

Last Saturday (27th July), I had the pleasure of attending Nashville Meets London in Canary Wharf, where I saw US singer-songwriter,  Sarah Darling perform. Sarah wore a beautiful sparkly dress and as also she looked wonderful. Sarah's set contained 12 songs in her 60 minute set. Sarah started her set with Blue Sky which for me was the perfect song for Sarah to have at the start of her set with as it got the crowd up and singing along right from the start. The next song was called Call Me which happens to be one song that got the audience loving and the energy up with. The more I see Sarah perform this song the more I am amazed by Sarah's vocals on this song. Sarah then performed her song Fire in which Sarah displayed her softer vocal range on and her harmonies were incredible on. I caught myself singing along with this song for the first time (despite having heard this song quite a few times) and knowing all the lyrics which makes a change. Shine was...

NASHVILLE MEETS LONDON - SATURDAY 27TH JULY - SET REVIEW - TWINNIE

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending Nashville Meets London  in Canary Wharf, where I saw British singer-songwriter,  Twinnie who was the second act of the day. I saw Twinnie perform for the 4th time this year alone and she amazes more and more everytime I see her perform live! Twinnie's set contained 11 songs in a 45 minute set. Twinnie opened her set full of energy with Type of Girl which for me was the perfect opening song for Twinnie and one that once again had the energy of everyone attending right up despite the weather. The second song Twinnie chose to perform was called Won't Go (or at least that's what I think it was called) which for me was a new one that I absoultely adored and the audience were listening to every word Twinnie was singing, the vocals on this song was everything. Daddy Issues was next and this is one song I love the more and more I hear it live there is just something about Twinnie's vocal range and song-writing abil...

SINGLE REVIEW - EMILY FAYE - BAREFOOT

This Friday (26th July) will see British singer-songwriter,  Emily Faye release her new single for the Summer, Barefoot. Emily wrote Barefoot with producer Sue McMillan. Barefoot has a beautiful instrumental throughout the whole song which has a super country feel for me right from the start. The first verse of Barefoot set the song off wonderfully and with the lyrics makes the song even more incredible - something that is perfect for the summer. The chorus of Barefoot is one that I adore and takes me right back to being at the beach with the sun shining down and having the best time with family and friends! The second verse of Barefoot is super beautiful and continues the storytelling beautifully and suits the song so fantastically. Emily's vocal range throughout Barefoot is just incredible. The bridge of Barefoot is stunning and Emily's softer vocal range makes it wonderful. Barefoot is definitely going to be my summer jam and reminds m...

SINGLE REVIEW - LOUISE PARKER - REAR VIEW MIRROR

This Friday (19th July) will see British singer-songwriter,  Louise Parker  who's based in Essex release her new single, Rear View Mirror. What Louise has to say about Rear View Mirror: "Rear View Mirror is an upbeat, sassy story about realising I deserve better. It is having an epiphany at a crossroad in life and choosing to not stand for anything less than perfection. I wrote it for all the women and men who have risen up in the face of adversity and been the stronger and better people. Rear View Mirror was born from a streak of road rage. A BMW wouldn't let me overtake on the M25, as I put my foot down and passed them I thought 'you suit my rear view mirror...' The chorus I wrote whilst driving, all the rest came later. Probably one of the easiest songs I've ever written. I'm a great driver, promise!" Rear View Mirror starts with guitar instrumental which I instantly loved and suits the song perfectly. The first verse is quickly given to us...

SINGLE REVIEW - GABBY BARRETT - THE GOOD ONES

Today (Friday 12th July) will see US singer-songwriter, Gabby Barrett release her brand new single, The Good Ones. The Good Ones starts with a soft instrumental (a little the same as I Hope but I like this sound gets you wanting more from the very start. The first verse of The Good Ones is quickly taken in and gives you exactly what you expect from the song (or at least I did). The lyrics are very catchy and you can paint your own picture from the lyrics. The chorus features The Good Ones some wonderfully honest lyrics which I love and I caught myself singing along with at the top of my lungs. I can't wait to hear this song live when Gabby comes over the UK one day - the softer vocals make this song. The second verse of The Good Ones carries the song on fantastically and the storytelling from the lyrics tells you about a bad relationship but one that teaches you a lot leading perfectly into the chorus. The bridge and final chorus during Th...

SINGLE REVIEW - JESS THRISTAN - THE OLD ME

This Friday (5th July) will see Yorkshire based singer-songwriter, Jess Thristan release her brand new single, The Old Me. The Old Me has a drum and guitar instrumental to start which I happen to love and start the song off in such a wonderful way with Jess' vocals. The first verse is one of pure honesty which is shown within the lyrics and I happen to catch myself listening too whilst wanting to sing along at the same time despite not knowing the lyrics. The chorus is obviously written from the heart and it allows you to hear the pain and not many songs allow us to do this, so for this I thank you Jess! The second and final verses work so well together and the story that you get from within the lyrics is just incredible and makes you relate on our own lives. Jess' vocal range is just stunning throughout and I adore the vocal changes allowing the emotions to shine through. The bridge of the song is completely breath-taking and made me get a little emotional. You can...

SINGLE REVIEW - TWINNIE - SOCIAL BABIES

From the very first moment I heard Twinnie 's new single Social Babies (OUT NOW!!) was first played on Bob Harris's Country Show on Thursday, I knew I would be reviewing this song because it is a song for most people with their use of Social Media and I hope it's a song that gets people listening and thinking about their use of their socials. Social Babies is a song with a quiet instrumental throughout which compliments Twinnie's vocals. The first verse is straight in which I love and the lyrics paint the picture for the song wonderfully and what most of us post on instagram and the determination to get the perfect photo to share. The chorus is my absolute favourite of the song and the part that I felt myself singing along with the most because of the catchiness and honesty within the lyrics which is wonderfully matched with Twinnie's stunning vocal range. The second verse continues the meaning of the song in such a wonderful way and I caught myself listening t...

Today (Friday 7th June) will see California-bred, Tennessee-based country music trio,  Temecula Road who are made up of sisters Emma and Maddie Salute and their friend Dawson Anderson release their brand new single, Fades. Fades is Temecula Road's first release in a year. Fades starts a beautiful instrumental which is quickly joined by Dawson's vocals on the first verse which I absolutely love and gives the song a fantastic start. But the moment that Maddie and Emma's vocals come in on the chorus you hear their perfect harmonies and their wonderful songwriting ability shines through. The second verse continues Fades beautifully and I very much like that Dawson has taken on vocal lead vocals for this song and everything about their vocal arrangements as a band amazes me. The chorus of Fades is super catchy and upbeat and I caught myself singing along every time. The instrumental before the final chorus made the song even more incredib...

This Friday (7th June) will see US singer-songwriter,  Sarah Darling  release her brand new album, Wonderland. Wonderland features 13 songs. Blue Sky starts with a upbeat dreamy instrumental from the guitar and drums which are quickly joined by Sarah's dreamy vocals that happen to happen the song in the most beautiful way. The chorus is super catchy and happy and I felt myself wanting to dance along from the start to finish. I adore how catchy the lyrics are. The second verse continues the storytelling in the most perfect way and I caught myself coming into a dream world. The bridge is beautiful and it only went an amazed me before Sarah sang the final chorus. The bird noises at the end along with sea sound gives the song a little more life. Blue Sky is the most perfect song for Sarah to open her Wonderland album with. Call Me is a favourite song of mine especially with the upbeat tempo of the song that made me instantly want to get up and dance. The first verse is...

SINGLE REVIEW - AMERICAN YOUNG - GONNA BE YOU

This Friday (7th June) will see US singer-songwriting duo, American Young a duo made up of Kristy Osmunson and Jon Stone, who have both had some success as Nashville songwriters before joining forces back in 2013. American Young's debut self-titled EP was released back in 2014 via Curb Records. Gonna Be You starts with a beautiful instrumental which I love and suits the start of the song so well. Gonna Be You quickly takes us into the first verse which showcases Jon's softer and meaningful vocals which are then joined by Kirsty before the chorus. The chorus of Gonna Be You is absoultely stunning and features some of the most beautiful and stunning lyrics I have heard in a while moving me to tears at times. The second verse of Gonna Be You is Kirsty's solo verse which I absoultely adore her vocal tone and you can hear how much Kirsty is relating to the lyrics which she sings. The bridge of Gonna Be You is so moving especially the lyrics and the...

EP REVIEW - DANNY McMAHON - BOYS DON'T CRY

This Friday (24th May) will see British singer-songwriter,  Danny McMahon release his new EP, Boys Cry Too. Boys Cry Too features 4 songs. All 4 songs on Boys Cry Too were written by Danny but track 3 was co-written with Daniel Evans. Boys Cry Too was recorded at Puzzle Maker Studio in Bristol. Everything starts a little slow but it works so well as Danny comes in with his softer vocal range which suits the tone of the song. Everything's first verse is very heartfelt and it shows within Danny's vocal range and I abousltely adore that. The chorus is completely stunning and it shows within Danny's vocals how much the song lyrics mean to him. The second verse continues the storytelling so fabulously well and you can really feel the emotion that Danny is feeling along with there being something so magically adore Danny's vocal and lyrical ability! I adore this song and this is the standout song of this EP for me. Boys Don't Cry start with a slow tempo instrume...

TENILLE ARTS RELEASES CALL YOU NAMES VIDEO

Tenille Arts turned to YouTube to debut the music video for her latest Reviver Records single, Call You Names this week. Shot on a Los Angeles soundstage, the clip features mothers, grandmothers and daughters interacting, as Tenille sings the beautifully touching song. Tenille’s own mother, Glenda Arts makes her music video debut in the clip, which can be viewed  here . The story behind the song, which Tenille admits is a tribute and an apology to her mother for “those teen years,” was almost divinely inspired. “I was just kinda playing some chords, trying to think of something different. All of a sudden I started playing these chords, and literally the first line of the song, ‘I remember you caught me with that first cigarette I smoked,’ just came out of my mouth, and I was like ‘What the heck? Where is this going?’ It felt like a ‘God thing,’ because these words were coming out of my mouth, like ‘I called you all of these names.’ Then I had the idea to change that fro...

DEBUT SINGLE REVIEW - THE ADELAIDES - LEAVE

The Adelaides are about to release their debut single, Leave which I have to admit is a song I loved the first time I heard it during Nashville Meets London last year. Leave was written by Marcus Hummon who happens to be Levi Hummon's dad and what an amazing song-writer he is. Leave starts has very funky and upbeat style to start which stays throughout instantly drawing me into the song. Abi's vocals open the track before moments later all three of the ladies join in on the first verse. The chorus showcases the girls harmonies so well and they compliment each other's vocals fabulously. The lyrics within the chorus are so fun and make me want to get up and dance from the start. The second verse allows the girls to have a little fun with the lyrics as does the chorus, which I absoultely adore! Throughout, Leave the girls get a chance to shine individually with their vocals. The bridge of Leave slows down a little but it makes me instantly want to go...

SINGLE REVIEW - TENILLE ARTS - CALL YOU NAMES

Today (Friday 26th April) will see Canadian singer-songwriter,  Tenille Arts release her latest single, Call You Names. Call You Names starts with a beautiful guitar instrumental which starts the song off in the most beautiful way. The first verse features some extermely honest lyrics to which a lot of them I felt myself being able to relate too because us girls have definitely all been through this with our mums/ mother figures. The chorus is another super honest part of the song to which I felt myself looking back on my childhood growing up and thinking about the things I did in those moments when you don't know what to do or how to felt. The second verse is just like the first in the way of the honest and it's about the stage where you left house and are unsure about what adulthood would/ will take you. The wanting to of apologising is something a lot of people learning will be able to relate too. The lyrics within Call You Names are incredibl...

EP REVIEW - MADDIE AND TAE - ONE HEART TO ANOTHER

Today (Friday 26th April), US singer-songwriter duo,  Maddie and Tae release their new EP One Heart To Another which is made up of 5 songs and 4 of which have been written by the girls, Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye. Maddie and Tae latest EP is definitely one of love, loss and redemption which you can definitely hear within the collection of songs they have shared. Friends Don't starts a wonderful instrumental even though it does also set the tone for an emotional song. Maddie is the first vocal you hear with rather heartfelt lyrics followed by Tae for the harmonies and in the chorus which takes the song to another level of meaning which I personally love. The second verse is where you can really hear the emotion. Friends Don't demonstrates to us listeners how much they have grown professionally over the year and I am grateful for the honesty. Friends Don't to me is one song that's in between friendship and love and whether it's worth the risk. Friends ...

Photo credit meganellephotography Chances Are starts with a guitar instrumental which starts the song off in a lovely way which is quickly taken into the first verse. The first verse of Chances Are is rather upbeat and allows Louise to show off her softer vocal which I absoultely love because it shows off everything Louise can do in a such a beautiful way. The chorus of Chances Are is super catchy and very funky which is a perfect song to be playing in the summer weather we have at the moment. I felt myself being able to relate to some of the chorus and you can definitely tell that Louise has written Chances Are from her heart and it shows in the most beautiful way! The second verse of Chances Are continues the storytelling and the picture you paint in your mind in the most fabulous way and more so in the final repea...

SINGLE REVIEW - MAIREAD FURLONG - COCOON

This Friday (19th April) will see British singer-songwriter,  Mairead Furlong release her brand new single, Cocoon. Cocoon is a song which Mairead wrote for her baby girl. Cocoon starts off with a wonderful guitar instrumental which I happened to love right from the start. The first verse is so incredibly heartfelt and it's obvious that this song is written from the heart and just as a new mother prepares to meet her baby for the very first time - I'll be the first to admit that it pulled on my heart strings from the start. I like the fact that Mairead didn't leave her partner's looks out of the song. The chorus of Cocoon is simply beautiful and extremely unique with lyrics about her daughter whilst she is in her womb growing and for that reason many people will be able to instantly connect especially women and new families. The second verse continues the story telling beautifully with the 'I can't wait too..' which for me was extremely moving. T...
