CAIN AND AARON'S HEART TO HEART WAS A NEEDED SOAP MOMENT!
Tonight's Emmerdale episode (10th June) was a two-hander lockdown episode featured Uncle and Nephew, Aaron and Cain Dingle.
Tonight's episode was written by Adam Sales, Emmerdale viewers saw Uncle and Nephew housemates, Cain and Aaron Dingle have their special episode which was broken down into days, and I loved this as you get a real feel for the characters lives.
Day 1 saw Uncle and Nephew, Aaron and Cain at loggerheads already over something. You can see how much the lockdown is already getting to the pair. But I love the humour from Cain. Love how Aaron is trying to get the truth out of his uncle, leading to Cain setting out some ground rules as Aaron wants Cain to open up.
Day 5 saw Cain see a letter on the kitchen table for Aaron which Aaron didn't see as he stood in the kitchen.
The next day, Aaron was playing on his video game in the lounge as Cain walked in and Aaron started on the questions again. Aaron is determined to get an answer, he isn't going to leave it.
Cain finally opened up to Aaron about what has annoyed him - like how Aaron played the jokey card, allowing to the pair having a heart to heart. It's great to see male's talking about their mental health.
Day 18 saw Cain arguing over the shops this is so real at the moment.
The next day, saw Aaron play a song on a playlist that got Cain a little annoyed, where he admitted he was missing Moira which led to a beautiful scene with the men opening up to each other about their loved ones.
On the same day, Cain told Aaron accidently in conversation that he has a letter from Robert - which saw Aaron realise how much he still loves Robert. The fact that Aaron was having a go at Cain for losing his letter from Robert which led to Aaron telling Cain to admit his feeling.
The next day saw Aaron give Cain the silent treatment that Cain was determined to break down Aaron's walls as he forced Cain to confront his feeling for Moira - it was so nice to see Cain finally admitting his true feelings! But it led to Aaron calling his uncle a hypocrite.
Later in the day, Cain come home with a rainbow picture which is a beautiful symbol of everything that has gone on in the world which saw Cain apologise to his nephew as he finds the letter in a book.
Aaron was later seen at the kitchen table writing back to Robert that saw Aaron get emotional over the letter which led to him realising that his doesn't need to respond. However, we all know that Robert is Aaron's one true love, but I love how Aaron showed how strong he has become without him, and the fact he doesn't need anyone shows us viewers so much about the characters growth!
Cain saying what everyone is thinking/ has been going through during lockdown, and seeing Cain say that he is proud of Aaron was something I never knew I needed to hear - but something I that was needed.
Like how Aaron is determined for Cain to tell Moira that he loves her, but I always see the why Cain not. But you could tell that he will always like Moira as he started playing their mix tape of special songs, oh I love soppy Cain.
There was something so beautiful, and special about tonight's episode. It was one episode I never knew I needed to see.
Danny Miller, and Jeff Hordley did an amazing job with tonight's episode, and the amount of realness was just perfect!
Thank you, Adam Sales for the amazing scripting tonight.
Emmerdale, I can't thank you enough for allowing us these lockdown episodes.
The direction of the episode was something rather special, and I can't thank Ian Bevitt enough for it.
