NEXT WEEK BOTH EMMERDALE AND CORONATION STREET MERGE FOR A ONE-OFF SPECIAL, CORRIEDALE

With CORRIEDALE set to air next Monday (5th January) which will see a mix of characters from both Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

The special episode is a celebration of the soap genre and will launch ITV's new 'soap power hour' scheduling pattern for both Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

Two Worlds Collide. One Hour. One Night. Everything Changes.

Corriedale begins with Debbie Webster's dramatic wedding to Ronnie Bailey where desperate, drink-fuelled Carl Webster speeds away with Debbie in the car.

Whilst at the same time, Becky Swain flees from her past with Lisa and Betsy Swain as she loses control of her vehicle, triggering a multi-car pile-up on a stormy road between Hotten and Weatherfield. This all sounds exciting and I still have so many questions that I need answers to.

The minibus carrying wedding guests including Billy Mayhew, David Platt and his pregnant wife, Shona, Steve McDonald, and Tracy Barlow all heading towards the crash, but can Billy steer them out of danger? With a drunken Carl careering out of control on the wet road is he about to put more lives at risk?

Elsewhere, the desperate love triangle between Aaron Dingle, Robert Sugden, and vengeful John Sugden reaching a climax in the chaos as Aaron is held at gunpoint. Hot on their heels are Coronation Street's Kit Green and Carla Connor arrive to save lives and pursue people that are trying to leave.

Whilst, Cain and Moira Dingle are taking Jacob Gallagher and Sarah Sugden to the airport and are blinded by Mackenzie Boyd in his car with Charity Dingle flashing his lights. Cain desperately tries to avert disaster when Mack's car crashes nearby. In the queue of traffic, a mysterious van pulls up concealing a terrified, bound woman.

The episode ends at Hotten General where the injured arrive, but life will never be the same. The aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets, and lies.

Corriedale will air on Monday 5th January, 2026 at 8pm on ITV1, and ITVX.

During next week's visits to Emmerdale, viewers will see a storyline centered on a fateful night with not one, but two limousines in danger as one is left teetering on a treacherous frozen lake. In a flash-forward sequence shared at the start of 2025, viewers were haunted by the sight of a desperate hand breaking through the lake's icy surface with it's fingers grasping for life. It's no secret that 2025 has seen Aaron Dingle reunite with the love of his life, Robert Sugden after 6 years  bringing a lot of drama for the newly reunited couple making fans extremely happy!
