NEW LOOK CORRIEDALE TRAILER

Tonight (Monday 15th December), ITV has released it's brand-new breathtaking trailer for the Corriedale episode coming to your screens in January.

The drama-filled promo reveals details of the catastrophic pile up and teases more characters who might be in jeopardy as the two worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale collide with the special episode set to be a celebration of the soap genre and launch ITV's new 'soap power hour' scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

In the new 30 second preview exclusively revealed during tonight's The Big Quiz, ITV's annual festive TV special putting cast members of Coronation Street and Emmerdale against each other in a battle of soap trivia hosted by Stephen Mulhern.

With some new characters confirmed as being amongst the residents of Weatherfield and Emmerdale caught up in the drama and now included from Coronation Street are Kit Green, James Bailey, Asha Alahan, Carla Connor and Shona Platt and from Emmerdale are Cain Dingle, Sarah Sugden, Charity Dingle, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden and Joe Tate joining the previously announced David Platt, Tracy Barlow, Liam Cavanagh, Aaron Dingle and Lisa Swain.

In the aftermath of the multiple vehicle smash Kit Green takes control of the situation whilst a frantic Carla Connor can be seen trying to calm someone down. An injured Shona and David Platt are tended to at the roadside by Emmerdale paramedic Jacob Gallagher, whilst Coronation Street's own trainee paramedic Asha Alahan shares the screen with Cain Dingle as she tries to help more casualties.

With both Emmerdale and Coronation Street having pregnant women caught up in the drama, Charity Dingle can be seen trying to help a screaming Shona in a scene in Hotten General Hospital.

However, as the trailer draws to a close Kevin and Abi Webster search for Debbie at the crash site, while a desperate Robert Sugden screams out for Aaron in the darkness alongside Joe Tate. Anyone else interested to see how the Robert and Joe scenes come about?

The hour long Corriedale episode will air at 8pm on Monday 5th January, however the special episode will not be dropped early on the day via ITVX.

Emmerdale will air an episode at 7pm with Coronation Street also airing at 7.30pm with these two episodes dropping on ITVX at 7am that morning (5th January).
