INTERVIEW WITH TYRA MADISON AS WE GET TO KNOW HER AND TALK ABOUT HER LATEST SINGLES

This week's interview is with Rising Singer-Songwriter, Tyra Madison who recently released two singles, Kentucky In Me, Party Girl as well as getting to know this new artist.

Hi Tyra. I am thrilled to be featuring but before we go any further , can I please ask you to introduce yourself to our readers?
What's up, y'all! My name is Tyra Madison. I'm a born and raised Kentucky girl from a small town called Pine Top, but I've been living in Nashville for 10 years now.

I have to throw this in what made you want to write country music and become a country music artist?
I grew up on Bluegrass music. My papaw played the harmonica, and my uncle played the guitar. I would say my influence from Bluegrass made me gravitate to country music. What I love about both genres is the storytelling aspect of them both. That's why I love songwriting.

I have been following since the start of the year, and it's been amazing to see how much you have grown over this short period I have been supporting you!
I appreciate that! Thank you!

You recently released your latest single, "Kentucky In Me" - can you please tell us a little about the track? Kentucky In Me is a song I wrote for my love of my home state, Kentucky. It has these elements of bluegrass/country/rock in it because I wanted to give a big kudos to the genre that raised me (Bluegrass). But, I also show my other side (country/rock).

How would you describe "Kentucky In Me" in just 3 words?
Proud, bold, and sassy.

I have to ask having listened to track and heard a lot of emotion, was this a difficult song to write?
Honestly, no. To me, the songs that mean something or are the most vulnerable are the easiest to write. I have found that the more honest I am, the better the song and the more it can relate to someone else going through the same thing.

You wrote Party Girl alongside Marla Cannon Goodman and Dustin Christense, how was this experience for you?
So good! This was actually our first time writing together, and the words just fell out. I love writing with Marla and Dustin; they are the best storytellers.

Tyra, I have to ask, are there any plans for an EP anytime soon?
Maybe... Nothing is announced yet, but I will tell you that a body of work is a big goal of mine this year.

Also, you recently performed at CMA Festival. How was that for you?
I did! I was so excited and had a blast. I've been applying to play CMA Fest for over 10 years, and it was an honor to get to be on one of the stages. Just a message to not give up.

With us being a UK Country Music page, I can't let you go without asking you about your plans for a possible trip to the UK in the future?
Y'all let me know when I should come visit. My passport is READY.

With us being a half way through 2025, what are your plans for the rest of the year?
Keep writing, keep playing live shows or go on tour, and like I said, release a body of work.

If you don't mind I'd like to ask you a few Quick Fire Questions
Easiest song to write? I’d probably say any kind of ballad. I’ve found that when I’m most vulnerable, the easier the song is to write. I’d probably say the quickest I’ve written was “Right Girl Wrong Time” in about an hour. I was feeling the emotions highly that day and was in the heat of the moment so the words fell out.
Hardest song to write? Probably Plead the 5th because it’s a story song and we had to think hard on the details of it and what we were going to say. Favourite song you have ever written or heard? It’s unreleased *smiles*
Do you prefer happy or sad songs? I write songs for the baddies and the saddies, so I love both, but I’d have to say I enjoy writing sad girl songs more.
Favourite part of the song to write? This may be an unpopular opinion, but I love a good bridge. And then, of course, the chorus is my other favorite part.

Thank you very much for your time, it has been fantastic chatting with you!
