WHY EMMERDALE'S GABBY AND KIM MOMENT WAS NEEDED!
As you all know I am big fan of Emmerdale, and I will always give credit to the soaps that give the characters such unique, and interesting storylines. This week has been no different with Gabby Thomas.
This week's Emmerdale episodes started with Gabby Thomas confronting Jamie Tate, the father of her unborn baby about him, and Dawn Taylor who was up at Home Farm collecting some papers which we all know was just a plot to get to see him. Jamie and Dawn then admitted their feelings for one another that Gabby ended up overhearing as she returned to Home Farm hearing everything!
With Jamie then looking for Gabby who was in the kitchen in pain fearing for her unborn baby, she collapsed as Jamie just stood there which had me feeling really annoyed (I know it was filmed socially distanced but really?)
Then in Tuesday evenings episode, viewers saw Gabby Thomas in her hospital bed where Kim Tate arrived (you could definitely hear the famous shoes before we saw Kim on TV) which saw the pair have a heart-to-heart seeing Gabby open up to Kim about Jamie was something that was like a breathe of fresh air as it was needed for the characters have a moment.
The scenes between Gabby, and Laurel also made for amazing viewing with Gabby admitting the reasons why she never called Laurel in the first place which didn't sit well with her, but all understandable. When Gabby revealed that she was doubting having the baby after all she's been through, Laurel made Gabby a suggestion that I have to say I wasn't expecting!
In last night's episode, viewers saw Kim confront Laurel about her offer as Gabby was debating whether to keep her baby or to have an abortion which we all knew was going to happen following Laurel's offer to bring up her baby as her own.
Another heartfelt scene between Gabby, and Kim at Home Farm was delivered where Kim allowed Gabby to ask the questions that she needed, whilst also seeming very open and honest in way that wasn't judgemental full of standing as it is her right to decide her future.
We all know that Kim has two sides, but there was something about this scene that had me seeing a different side to Kim - not that I think it would last long. I really enjoyed seeing the 'tough love' from Kim.
The final scene of the episode saw Gabby going to visit Laurel to tell her about her decision leading to Laurel talking over her in a way that had me shouting at the TV 'Let Gabby talk!'
However, when Gabby did it was really nice to see Gabby standing up for herself!
In Thursday's second episode, seeing Jamie apologising to Gabby was something that was needed to tie this week's episodes together, however it didn't feel heartfelt.
Everything about the dynamic between the characters and actresses this week was wonderful!
Rosie Bentham has done a truly amazing job, especially with her scenes with Claire King. There is something I am loving about their relationship onscreen.
Claire King is one fantastic actress who plays the two sides of her character fantastically giving a wonderful balance.
These episodes of Emmerdale aired on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th March on ITV.
