Good Morning, Georgia, and Michael. How are you today?
Hi Kellie, we're great thank you! Excited to talk to you today about our 'Old School' release and upcoming plans.
I am very excited to be talking to you, too. Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview with me.
Thank you for having us!

The last time, we spoke was as you were releasing your debut double release in December, how has that been for you? Have the UK Country Music scene accepted your music?
Honestly, I think we were shocked and surprised at how much the UK Country Music scene completely embraced us and our music. The response to our double debut release really was amazing, and has definitely provided the momentum to keep releasing music into 2021 and beyond. We've got some really exciting things lined up this year because of our December debut!
Honestly, this is something many UK artists saying when they are new to the scene, and it amazes me. I am glad you got the response you did to the first two singles because it has definitely opened up more doors for you.

I just wanted to say before we get chatting about Old School, how much I adored your vocals throughout - there is something that is so unique, and raw.
Ah thank you so much Kellie, that means a lot! One thing we really pride ourselves on is our vocals. We put a lot of time into making sure they're spot on; refining and ensuring they reflect our music. Our next release (oops, did we just let that one out!), will show us in a slightly different light. Michael is on a mission at the moment, writing the foundations of new songs to show all different sides of us.
It definitely comes across, and it will again within this single. Michael is on a great mission I have to say all the songwriting is fantastic.

How are you feeling about the release of your latest single, Old School being released today?
Aaah, it's out there! All we can do is be honest, and say we're a little apprehensive and nervous. Our double debut got such an amazing response and we really want this to continue. With those nerves comes so much excitement though, and we do feel that today's release is the next step for us as a duo, so we're definitely feeling positive about that and hope you all think the same!
I can't lie when I am seeing how nervous you are as I am too, but at the same time I am extremely excited for you. I am sure you will get the incredible response you deserve.

Georgia and Michael, could I please ask you tell us a little more about your brand new single, Old School and your first of 2021?
Our third single, in a nutshell, is about the old school love you rarely hear of these days; only in stories from days gone by. Periods of wartime station goodbyes, when technology as we know it today didn’t exist, all interlaced with the positive things of today and the growth of humanity towards beautiful things such as same-sex and interracial relationships. Love is one of the most wonderful emotions, and can be shared and spread in the simplest of ways. I guess what the song is to us is a reminder that even when dealing with the most complex feelings, simple is better... the old school way!
You are summed everything up perfectly with this answer, and I am left with no answer as you have taken my words.

What inspired the writing of Old School?
The concept of our latest single started with the beauty of old school love; the picture of an old man sat on a park bench, reading a love letter from his wife. Moments which seem to have sadly disappeared within society today. We wanted to write something that reflected these missing pieces of nostalgia, potentially even acting as a reminder of that old school love, interlinked with the exciting moments of new age love as we know it today.
You have chosen the missed concept within songs, and this is why I think I adore Old School as much as I do because of the storytelling, and taking it all the way back to the 'Old School' ways!

Which leads on very nicely will my next questions for you, I am very intrigued to know but how look did it take you to write Old School?
In true One Trick Pony style, Michael sent me a voice note while he was sitting on the train - 10th December to be exact. This was followed by another spam of voice notes, all documenting the growth of 'Old School' with the familiar 'bing bong' of the train in the background. This was where it all began, and this was the DAY before the release of 'You're That Face' and 'Always Home'. Release day saw us finding half an hour to sit down and arrange these voice notes and fine tune the lyrics, and that's how 'Old School' was born! All in two days work. This was one of those that we instantly loved and we knew we wanted to run with it. It went into production on January 11th, and here we are today!
I love this story, I am emotional just listening to it. As a lover of the hard work that goes into songwriting, and the process behind the scenes - it's crazy what happens in such a short space of time.

Old School is one incredible track, full of incredible song writing, and old school country moments which is something, I loved hearing - so thank you!

Georgia, and Michael, did you always plan to release Old School as the follow up single to your double debut release back in December?
We weren't sure if it was going to be the direct follow-up, but we knew we definitely wanted to share it in early 2021. As we previously hinted, we were deciding between 'Old School' and our next release, as well as playing with a few other ideas. In the end, we couldn't get away from the fun-loving One Trick Pony style you all recognise, and decided 'Old School' was the first of this year!
I am so glad you went with the song that has the One Trick Pony style as your first release of the song.

Now, I have to ask you how was the recording for Old School?
The song went into production in early January, and at this point we were knee-deep in COVID-19 lockdown... typical! We were determined that nothing was going to hold us back though. Recording was an amazing experience, and we were very fortunate to still be able to head to a studio to create 'Old School'. It was definitely a learning curve. Our producer, Tim Prottey-Jones, had to stream in via Skype and Listento, which was an experience in itself as we're so used to having him there in person. We do have to give particular credit to Simon Small at Tunnel of Reverb; he was wonderful, and ensured we were working and creating in a completely COVID-safe, professional and fun environment.
Tim Pottery-Jones is one talented guy who works so incredibly well, determined to help new artists get out there especially when he believes in them as individuals too.

How would you sum up your single, Old School in just 3 words for anyone wanting to check the single out?
Reminiscent, Joyful, and Fun.
What a fantastic choice of words to sum up your new single.

Thank you so much for your time, Georgia, and Michael. I am very grateful for your time as always, it's been great chatting to you!
