That Summer has a wonderfully soft, and summery sounding instrumental which blends perfectly with the title of the song.
The first verse of That Summer sees Kaylee's softer crisp vocal range at the forefront which in turn allows the lyrics to shine through allowing a beautiful love story to come across as it does throughout all three verses. The attention to detail within the song-writing from Kaylee is magical. I love the summery vibes, and the heartfelt lyrics that I couldn't help but sing along with.
The chorus has an up-tempo sound that sees Kaylee's emotional vocal at the centre as it sees another side of who she is as an artist - the perfect blend if you ask me! The lyrics are ones that get you thinking, and ones that I think many people will be able to relate too with their summer romances. Josh, and Kaylee vocals together are so special, it's the perfect blend.
The second verse of That Summer continues with Josh's vocal taking the lead which it turns sees the song take another turn adding this wonderful dynamic to the song which sees the storytelling from a different side making it even more special. The chorus blends every single verse together wonderfully especially with the instrumental before the bridge into the final chorus.
The final chorus of That Summer sees the song come to the most naturally beautiful end as it allows the listeners this real sweet attention to detail moment.
