*OPINION* WHY ROBERT AND AARON'S PROPOSAL ON CORRIEDALE WAS BRILLIANTLY TIMED

During Monday's (5th January) special crossover episode of Corriedale, viewers saw Emmerdale fan-favourite couple, Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden known as Robron to their dedicated fanbase become engaged for the third time!

Robron fans have been through many emotions since Ryan Hawley finally decided to come back after 6 years away from the Yorkshire Dales based soap with his first scene airing on Wednesday 28th May, 2025 to stop Aaron Dingle and John Sugden's wedding with the Robron scenes becoming better and better from August 2025.

Let's be honest, did any of us really think we'd get a proposal this early on in 2026? We all hoped, but I'm glad it was better than we any of us thought, don't you agree?

There was something super beautiful and very Robron style to it especially with it being on a roadside where Aaron lied injured following the crash saw quite a fitting moment happen between Robert and Aaron leading to Aaron proposing in a moment that Robron fans joined together and cheered, because we never gave up on these characters and their love story being cemented once again by marriage.
We've waited 6 years for Ryan Hawley to return as Robert so we finally have something to cheer about when it comes to Robron.

The attention to detail throughout the carefully crafted dialogue was beautiful and the way Danny Miller and Ryan Hawley know their characters inside out made it even more special - anyone else agree?

Did anyone else think this was an old school Aaron and Robert proposal because I know I did, however I think this is what made it even more special. 

Did anyone else hope that this week we'd have got a ring exchange too? This for me was a missed little detail, however, Chas Dingle's reaction was brilliant especially as you think back to how she's been with Robert over the last few months.

If we think back to 20th February, 2017 celebrated their first wedding that saw Robert surprise Aaron with a wedding that ended with the pair going off by themselves and share their vows with one another in the garage during 21st February's episode in quite a Robron romantic way just days before Aaron was due to go to prison. Then 5th October, 2018 saw their second wedding take place surrounded by their loved ones in a very rustic and romantic episode still one of my favourite episodes.
One thing that we can all agree one is the way that a Robron wedding is filled with lots of love, family moments, in amongst the chaos there are always so many heart-warming moments.

Now let's hope their next wedding is a mix of both their previous weddings, however, I feel like this one will be more special than the other two - maybe in the village church making it a special village feel to it, but you never know with Robert and Aaron.

One thing we all know going forward is that nothing will ever appear be plain sailing for this couple, nor would us Robron fans want it to be - would it be Robron without a little drama?

It's no secret that 2025 has seen Aaron Dingle reunite with the love of his life, Robert Sugden after 6 years  bringing a lot of drama for the newly reunited couple making fans extremely happy!
