*REVIEW* EMMERDALE'S DRAMA FILLED WEEK FOLLOWING CORRIEDALE!
I wasn't sure I was going to write this let alone share this, but honestly this week's Emmerdale episodes have been interesting as it followed on from the Corriedale drama.
Emmerdale aired an episode prior to Corriedale that set up, the special episode brilliantly showing us how and why certain characters ended up where they did, whilst remaining to give little away which many beautifully captured shots delivered. But it was Aaron telling John “You're nobody, you're deluded you really think I'd chose you over Robert? He's everything to me. He's the love of my life and he's 10 times the man you'll ever be” that really made me smile.
Corriedale (5th January) definitely delivered a drama-filled episode featuring a Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden proposal was beautiful viewing and everything and more than many of us Robron fans wanted especially with the “Messed up with you... forever.” line, as well as the return of Graham Foster, however, the shock of Cain Dingle's diagnosis was something I didn't see coming.
Tuesday's Emmerdale episode (6th January) was a good follow-up episode based around the hospital allowing for some great scenes, but it was Victoria Sugden's confession to Robert and Aaron regarding her killing John Sugden later revealing that Joe Tate was in fact recording her - why am I excited to see how this played out.

Wednesday's episode (7th January) saw Charity and Sarah Dingle set by Mackenzie Boyd's bedside who's awake following the crash as Sarah became emotional over the whole situation, however, it wasn't long before Joe Tate was back to his scheming ways as he blackmailed Robert and Victoria into giving him the farm - it was nice to see the victim side of Robert for once as well as seeing Robert and Aaron support Victoria, I forgot how much I enjoy these moments between these characters which continued throughout the week.
Whilst, the village drama continued with April Windsor and Dylan Penders revealing the truth about everything that happened with Celia and Ray.

The later part of the week saw Mackenzie and Ross Barton scenes reminding viewers of their friendship, it was great to see many little hearted moments between many different characters back in the village that didn't appear in the crossover episode like Kerry Wyatt, and reminding the bond between Aaron and Paddy Kirk. However, Robert was seen hiding what Joe was making him to from Aaron who deserves to know the truth, but we have to remember that if it was smooth sailing for the pair there would be no drama - but these two teamed up is much better!
Another thing, I really liked was the way that Cain and Liam Cavanagh's friendship was revisited especially as Cain needed a friend, even though he hates to attend he does - Liam wanting to help and support was great to see as their friendship.
Thank you Emmerdale for remaining to show what a tight knit community/ village the show has, something viewers enjoy.
These episodes of Emmerdale aired between Monday 5th - Friday 9th January, 2026 on ITV1 and ITVX.

Excellent summing up of everything
