C2C 2024 HIGHLIGHTS

This year's C2C blogs are a little different as due to personal reasons this blog is brought to you as a weekend highlight due to my anxiety and stress taking over after an extremely stressful few weeks.

Brooke Eden was a highlight having caught two of her shows, I was overwhelmed as having discovered her when she was last at C2C in 2016, you can see and hear a lot of progression within her voice making for many incredible moments. However, it was her performances of Outlaw Love and Whispering that had me teary but that's what music can do when you relate.

Tigirlily Gold's Radio 2 Stage performance was fantastic and to be involved to their first fan club party was incredible, these talented ladies have progressed so much in the last 12 months that honestly it has been so magical to watch.

Sophia Scott performed a song called Lipstick On You which was incredible a standout moment for me of the whole festival - Sophia has a big 2024 to come I can sense it! Harper Grace, and Carter Faith were three artists, I was determined to catch and I am so thankful I did as every single song from them was fantastic allowing for festival goers to really get to know them and appreciate their music is why I love the smaller C2C stages for moments like this.

Lily Rose was the highlight of Sunday as I have wanted her to come to the UK for so long so there was no way I was going to let the opportunity pass and I am pleased to say that Lily Rose did not disappoint if anything she was even better than I thought. Villain was standout, however her new music was brilliant to hear and I can't wait for the new songs to be released.

On Saturday, I caught Sinead Burgess who I have to say after seeing her support The Shires a few years ago Sinead has definitely grown and shown everyone what a brilliant artist she is. Sinead has come a long way and I can't wait to see what's to come from her in 2024.

Shane Profitt was an artist, I wasn't really sure about however C2C changed my mind on this and he was great and one of my favourite new artists after his performances in The Barrelhouse.

I also caught Colbie Caillat over the festival but you can read my review here.

Also over the festival, I caught Remember Monday these talented singers I have to admit have grown on me over the past 12 months and the way that owned the Radio 2 Stage during their performance was brilliant, Chapel Hart who are so talented, Dylan Schneider who was one of the biggest surprises for me really liked how he owned his Barrelhouse performance.

This Friday (11th August)  will see  Swansea based artist singer-songwriter, Eleri  release her latest single, Karaoke. Karaoke was co written with Vanessa Murray and Katie Buckland, and produced by Tim Prottey/Jones of First Time Flyers. Karaoke  has an upbeat instrumental setting the tone beautifully. The first verses sees Eleri's soft vocal at the forefront with lyrics that get you thinking of those moments at a gig that you don't think you'll ever get to see takes me back to experiencing Priscilla Block with Eleri last year, oh the memories. The second verse sees the song take another turn of when you feel like things aren't working out but you are determined to learn from the lesson it's given you. The chorus features many catchy upbeat lyrics that I could myself singing along with despite not knowing the lyrics 100% typical Kellie. COMING UP ON EMMERDALE: AMELIA CHRISTENS ESTHER AS CHARITY AND AMY BRING THE DRAMA

EMMERDALE REVIEW - DAN SHOWED HIS VULNERABILITY

Over the past few weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen a different side of Dan Spencer following his daughter, Amelia's social media ordeal which has allowed for a different side of the character's development to be shown. It's obvious to me and many other viewers that all Dan Spencer has ever wanted to do was protect Amelia, but the way he said some harsh things to her in Tuesday's episode (11th July) saw the vulnerability in both characters. It was during Wednesday's episode (12th July) where Dan said "you have every right to be online" was a moment I caught myself a little emotional over as it reminded me of my own experience once again - it's clear how much Dan cares about his daughter and just wants what's best for her like parents do. The way that parents want their children to hear the truth, sometimes isn't the best way to do but on the other side sometimes it just needs to be said.
