ROBRON REVIEW OF THE EMMERDALE PRISON EPISODE AND THE FOLLOWING DAY...

Welcome back to another blog involving our favourite pair, Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle along with Liv Flaherty and Paddy Kirk.

So the start of the week saw 'A Special Prison In The Life Of Aaron' on Monday written beautifully by Paul Roundell and directed by Sean Healy as was Tuesday's episode. Tuesday's episode was written by Bill Lyons.

Great acting this week for Danny Miller and Ryan Hawley as always but how stunning was Isobel Steele? She is just smashing her scenes at the moment what a talent she is to the show. And you can't forget about Dominic Brunt.

I have mentioned how fabulously brilliant Michael Warrender and Samuel Cook have been as Ethan and Jason in Monday's episode my god Emmerdale have cast these roles fantastically!
Samuel is just one of those actors that can play a baddy so well, great work!

Does anyone else want the characters to stay on Emmerdale? Because I do with Samuel as he has been wonderful as bad boy Jason there is more to his character then what we are seeing I'd love for him to open up instead of using homophobic comments towards Aaron.
And Michael as Ethan is someone I'd like to see as a good friend for Aaron while he's instead. But as Monday's started and Ethan told Jason he hated being associated with Aaron and even sharing a cell but Tuesday's ending with Ethan giving Aaron wise words about if he was to deliver to other prisoners what could happen, this is a friendship I am glad Aaron kind of has.

The star of the week for me was Isobel Steele, she smashed her scenes in both episodes this week and the emotions she captured for us viewers, she shone. Isobel's only 16 yet, and people need to remember this. Isobel brings so much to Liv and it's thanks to her natural ability that she is able to get the correct emotions and facial expressions. Isobel is one incredible actress with a very bright future ahead with skills like this... I can't wait for the day I can tell her this and more in person.

At the end of Friday's episode we saw that Aaron got beaten up by Jason due to his sexuality and
Monday's episode started with Aaron looking like he was crying. We then saw Robert sitting on the couch when he hears a knock at the door, Robert soon moves his duvet to the kitchen before Victoria sees and notices that he's been sleeping in the lounge. During this scene I started to have tears in my eyes and not knowing what the episode was going to show us next.

We then saw Aaron in his cell in bed with a guard having to wake him up and when he was finally up and walking you could see how much pain Aaron was in from the beating he got off Jason and his gang the night before. Few scenes later we saw that Ethan offered Aaron something to help him with the pain he was feeling in which he said no too.

Liv was in the café talking to Brenda Walker when 2 lads walked in and started to tease her about her brother being in jail, Noah steps in to what he thought was helping but Liv tells him off.
Robert arrived at The Mill which Adam is currently helping to do up ready for when Aaron is released from prison - to see that there is graffiti all over the door at the front and Robert then lays in to Adam because he was in there when it was graffiti'd so it seemed.

At this point in the episode my emotions were all over the place but mostly I was a sobbing mess. What a brutal episode so far and I really felt for Aaron, Liv and Robert for what they were all going through and hoping Robert was going to open up to Victoria Barton.
I was very distressed before the second part of the episode. And I personally don't understand how Emmerdale were able to air this episode at 7pm.... Very tense but gives us a real insight into what can actual happen in a prison setting and what having a homophobia prisoner can have on someone like Aaron and their family.

The first scene back after the break we met Father Aidan and he sees Aaron in a bad state and he tries to help him but Aaron is scared about talking and walks off...
The line was for me stating the obvious again are we? Father Aidan said once Aaron woke up and this causes Aaron to jump 'One of those days? scene then cuts to Aaron's cell, Aaron sitting on the bed.

Love the fact that Noah is there for Liv he's obviously only being a good friend to Liv. Noah then encourages Liv to tell Aaron about how she feels.

Victoria then tells Adam that Robert will catch you up meaning and Adam jokingly says 'you're in trouble' with Victoria talking to Robert after noticing that Robert was struggles without Aaron she urges him to talk to Aaron about how is feels and with him struggling with his husband, will they talk to each other about it?

(Aaron and Father Aidan talk and Aaron starts to open up)
My heart was happy when he start to open up finally!

Robert places his phone on the table. Robert and Liv are waiting for Aaron to phone and when the phone starts to ring and they see that it's Aaron they both smile at the phone before answering it. I smiled at the TV at this moment... I felt so happy for them.

The episode ends with Aaron in his cell talking to Ethan.
Liv gets messages to her phone about Aaron.
Robert goes to sleep on the sofa as he still can't face the fact that Aaron isn't with him.

Final scene is of Aaron taking drugs sadly!

My heart is broken for all three of the characters...
Aaron because he's so broken without Robert and the fact he hates opening up to people only made the episode worse but goes to show that your mental health really does play with you when you are in such a confined space. I just open in a future episode Aaron will open up to Robert but I don't have much faith in Aaron's character or the writers at the moment for this if I am honest.

I also expected to cry during this episode but not as much as I did tonight.

Before Tuesday's episode I was feeling nervous, scared about what was going to happen to Aaron and Robert but for me even more so Liv.

The episode starts with Robert in the kitchen when Robert comes rushing in saying he's here to collect Liv as they were off to visit Aaron in prison. Robert said to Paddy that is Liv's really excited to be seeing Aaron today.

Aaron is laying broken in his cell wishing he was with Robert and Liv you can tell he's taken something just wish Aaron would open up about how he feels.
Aaron then talks to Ethan about drugs but then brings up about Liv visiting him today. Ethan tells Aaron that if he wants anymore then he'll have to talk to Jason as he is the one selling it.
Ethan leaves his cell after talking to Aaron as Priest Aidan arrives to speak to Aaron who's in his cell talking to Ethan and the words the Priest uses are definitely ringing in Aaron's ears just by looking at his face you can see this, and they were definitely ringing in my ears too!
Priest: 'I was wondering if you'd had any more thoughts about our discussion.'
Aaron: 'Look I'm sure you mean well but I think I can find my own way through this.'
Priest: 'We all need help sometimes and there's nothing wrong with admitting that.'
Aaron: 'Well, I'm sure there's plenty of people who need much more help than I do so I won't waste any more of your time.' (Priest then exits the cell leaving Aaron alone)

Will Aaron just admit to the priest that he is struggling with everything that he happening to him in prison, if he can't bring himself to tell Robert and Liv about how he's suffering!

Aaron goes to see Jason near he's cell when he's with his gang with Ethan to ask about ..
This to me shows exactly how much Aaron is struggling and he's mental health is affecting him more than he realises, he needs to speak out for his own sake and soon.

When Liv visits Aaron in prison with Paddy, Liv's face is a picture.
(Paddy and Liv are waiting for Aaron to arrive)

The first half got my emotions all over the place, but made me realise how strong a character Liv is and that he's only wants her brother home and Isobel's an incredible young actress, can we give her an award?

After the break we return to another scene from Aaron and Liv talking in the prison...
Aaron is clearly upset when he hears that Liv wants to leave. As Liv walks out Aaron is clearly distressed. But will Liv share the information she knows with Paddy or maybe even Robert,- doubt it as she'll stay loyal to her brother. With the emotions Liv is feeling and showing is very scary and surreal, much praise deserved.

We then see Robert scrubbing to get the graffiti of The Mill door about Aaron when Paddy walks down to tell Robert about how the prison visit between Liv and Aaron went...

Victoria enters the back room of The Woolpack to see Liv on the sofa, to be what looks like she's worrying about Aaron and the state he was and what he said to her)
to know how I was getting on at school.' (Clearly with Victoria's words ringing in her ear she decides to lie to Robert about what she and Aaron spoke about and the state she saw him in)

Final scene of the week featuring these characters, Aaron visits Jason and asks about ..... and he's allowed some if he delivers it to his fellow prisoners without getting caught by the guards)

My emotions within the last 10 minutes of this episode were all over the place because you know that the only thing going through Liv and Aaron's heads until they see each other again will be Liv's words and Liv will possibly be thinking was I too harsh? Will we hate me for what I said? but it's obvious she only said what she did because she cares so much for her brother.

These episodes of Emmerdale aired between Monday 6th - Wednesday 8th March on ITV.
