Tonight's visit (Wednesday 21st May) to Walford based, EastEnders was an emotional stand alone episode featuring just a handful of characters on a storyline where EastEnders are working with Royal National Institute of Blind People ( RNIB ). The week started with Lauren Branning noticing something was wrong with her newborn, Jimmy Beale but only Linda Carter appeared to be listening following their heart-to-heart about addiction in Monday's episode (19th May) which I really hope continues as their friendship is so refreshing to see. The way Lauren trusted her instincts shows both growth and confidence within the character - the strong yet frustrated and vulnerable sides have been portrayed this week. It's been no secret that over recent weeks that Sarah Sugden wants to have a child having recently opened up to Vanessa Woodfield about this and her reasons why, however, during next week's visits to the Yorkshire based soap the character is set for a devastating diagnosis. The week begins with Sarah Sugden heading alone to get her biopsy results, however at the hospital Sarah's fears are confirmed when the consultant reveals that she has the early stages of cervical cancer.  As Sarah struggles to take in all the information, she is relieved to find out that she may still be able to get pregnant. Following its release last Friday (16th May), singer-songwriter, Sarah Watson  released her latest single, You Did It - one song I remember hearing back in January 2020 (my last gig before the covid era). Photo Taken By Me During her 2020 showcase You Did It  begins with a beautiful piano instrumental before Sarah's soft vocal tones come in allowing for the song to take us listeners on an emotional ride with the lyrics being ones that many will be able to relate with. The relationship ups and downs that are bought to life during this song, and all of its imperfections, however, its the second verse sees another set of vulnerability shine through with her crisp tones. During this week's visit to Albert Square, EastEnders viewers saw Lauren Branning face a tough week as her pregnancy came to an end, but not before Cindy Beale returned causing drama. Ahead of the engagement celebrations beginning in Monday's episode (5th May) with Kathy Cotton noticing a spelling error with their cake but honestly it was nice to see some laughter with Kathy sharing some wise words. However, it was Peter Beale's distraction that really frustrated me as viewers could see how anxious his fiancée, Lauren Branning was ahead of the midwife appointment with the vulnerable side of the character portrayed which once again Peter failed to notice. Later, with their engagement party in full swing, Ian Beale made an ill-judged comment that led to a wonderful scene between Kathy and Lauren showing how strong these characters are when it comes to supporting one another. Next Friday (16th May) Coronation Street viewers can expect an explosive flashback episode featuring PC Kit Green who I think we can all say has been an interesting addition to the cobbles  as the show is set to reveal secrets and events that have shaped Kit into the man he is today.   During the special flashback episode taking viewers back to 2007 where they will witness the teenage years of Kit, Mick Michaelis, and Lou Michaelis and uncover the truth behind their crossed past. These are the kind of episodes I love to watch as a Corrie fan. With secrets being revealed, and long-buried traumas resurfacing, shedding light on Kit's motivations and the reason behind his complicated relationships. Viewers have already seen glimpses of the tension between Kit and Mick with Gary Windass suspecting Kit of covering for Mick.
