ROBRON WEEKLY REVIEW - WHAT A WEEK FOR US ROBRON FANS...

As some of you may know I love Emmerdale and I am a big fan of a certain couple known as 'Robron' aka Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle since their first kiss back on Thursday 4th December 2014, who knew back then that it was only meant to be an affair but 27 months later, they would be 'married'.

Maxine Alderton's writing of Tuesday's episode was just stunning and deserves so much praise as does her episode for half an hour on Thursday but as do Isobel Cameron who wrote Monday's and Dawn Harrison who wrote Thursday's one hour episode.

Monday's episode started with Robert trying to get Aaron out of The Woolpack so that Robert can start planning his surprise wedding to Aaron, Adam then arrived to keep Aaron occupied until he was needed back for the wedding.

With Chas and Liv helping to organise their special day with decorating the front of the pub along with Diane and Victoria and Marlon on food duty.
We also saw scenes from Paddy, Robert and Chas in the back after Paddy walking into see Chas and getting ready for a special occasion and Paddy wasn't told by Robert about him marrying Aaron (lets just say Paddy wasn't impressed)

With Robert talking to Harriett about him not wanting her to get into the same amount of trouble as she did for Ali and Ruby years back, Harriett asks Robert if he really loves Aaron and wants to spend the rest of his life with Aaron, Harriet agrees to do the ceremony.
Robert then says to Harriet 'I want to say my vows in front of him and Liv hear what he means to me properly.' Diane replies 'of course pet.' Liv then replies 'You want me to hear?' Seconds later Robert says to Liv 'yeah, this weddings for you too you know. Your stuck with me after today like it or not!' in which Liv smiles and you can tell it means so much to her with her saying 'You want me to hear them?' and Robert replying 'Your stuck with me after today."

But later when on Aaron watch like Chas asked him too, Paddy and Aaron were sat at the kitchen table in Butler's Farm talking about Robert, Aaron says 'I'm going to prison but I'm finally happy!' Paddy's face was shocked but he knew he had to accept Robert because he makes Aaron happy but when Aaron said to Paddy 'He might not be for you but he's DEFINITELY for me!' Our hearts were happy.
But when Aaron arrived back early, Chas and Cain were talking about their sons and that they wanted them to be happy, but when Cain shoved him in the back of the boot for a while then Robert opened it and said 'HAPPY SURPRISE WEDDING DAY!' (I think most of you will agree with me that we shed a tear!)
With Aaron then going off to change into her wedding suit before saying I'm not getting married like this 'I'm not gonna get married in these overalls like some dirty little grease monkey, am I?' and Robert then saying 'I'll wait' whilst smiling to himself as Aaron's leaves to go and get his suit on.

Also before they attended their wedding the cute scene at the bottom of the stairs with Robert giving Liv the wedding rings was the cutest little scene, then Aaron realising Robert was so nervous but Aaron saying he wasn't you could just tell it's something that they both wanted to be done perfectly before he went to prison.
And finally the moment Robert and Aaron stood in front of the packed Woolpack to say their vows thanks to Harriett leading the ceremony before the police turned up for Faith which ended the episode.

Tuesday's episode started with Faith being arrested and Robert saying to the police 'We're tryna get married here'.
But with Faith being arrested this took Aaron, Robert, Chas, Charity, Cain and Debbie all outside and with Aaron saying 'can we get on with it now?' then Charity pointing out that Robert's walked off. Later, Aaron finds Robert at the garage and they start having a conversation with Robert saying that he wanted everything to be perfect for Aaron and let's be honest for us anything would have been but when Robert tells Aaron 'Yeah, well, you mean a lot. And I wanted to show you' during a conversation sat on a car bonnet outside the garage and when Aaron suggests to Robert about going to say their vows inside the garage (lets just say our hearts melted because of their history with the garage in the early days) with Aaron saying 'Yeah... There's no reason why we couldn't do it properly now though, is there? (shows Robert the rings) I got these back off Liv.'
Then the moment Robert and Aaron started saying their vows in the garage - I know for sure I was a sobbing mess but my heart was happy, we've waited so long for this moment - the vows were the cutest too, cos it wasn't what you would expect from them.

The 'You know, I know' line was just PERFECT!!

When they arrived back in the Woolpack together telling Chas and Charity when they enter that they did their own thing and Charity announcing 'It wasn't another row, they got wed' was just amazing because lets be honest none of us thought it was gonna happen in the garage.
Everyone in the pub was so happy for them, and the scene where Robert drank from the welly was just amazing because it was one thing that we happen that we didn't think it would but Robert going along with it just goes to show what Aaron means too him PERFECT! Then their first dance to Adele's make you feel my love was just another one of those embarrassing moments for Aaron Dingle but he loved it deep down you could tell as it was with the man he loves.
Then things turned sad when Robert went looking for his husband outside The Woolpack talking about Aaron going to prison and Robert telling him 'I'll wait. I've waited before, haven't I? And it'll pass. However long it is. And then you'll come home to me, and we'll never look back, okay?' (we all shed tears at this, just admit it!)

It was such a shame that Liv wasn't their celebrating her brother's big day.

Thursday's episode was definitely the most emotional for me I was sobbing at the opening scene and I am not afraid to admit it with Aaron packing his bag ready for prison and Robert knowing Aaron was taking Robert 'rip off' aftershave but Aaron replying 'Yeah, but it's yours though innit?' the hug that followed was so hard because that we the moment Aaron realised that he was leaving Robert and Aaron was breaking. The moment that followed with Aaron telling Robert that he's not to come to court as he's couldn't take saying goodbye to him - which you could tell he was worried about people in the court/ prison knowing about his sexuality and relationship with Robert.
Next moment that followed for me was the hardest goodbye and that was to Liv because Liv looks up to Aaron and Aaron felt so bad about what he did to be leaving her and Liv saying 'Just come back quick, okay?' broke me as all she wants is her big brother with her.
The FINAL goodbye between Robert and Aaron was so heart-breaking to watch but the mutual 'I love you' moment was just too much but something all us fans wanted to hear so much but definitely the 'Bye Mr Sugden' and 'Bye Mr Dingle' lines broke us all if we are honest...

Aaron's prison journey and homophobia storyline within prison

The moment that Aaron arrived in Hotten prison was the moment we all saw for sure was the most heart-broken we have seen Aaron in since Robert called their engagement off leading to the situation that caused Aaron to go to prison and it was genuine fear of facing prison life and a life without Robert being by his side that was bringing Aaron down.
When Aaron was given the forms to fill in about him - the chat that he said with the prison guard about does he/ doesn't he admit to his fellow prisoners about him being gay and married, this was clearly a very hard moment for Aaron as he ticked 'prefer not to say' box because for the first time in so long Aaron's finally happy with his life this prison strength is definitely going to take it's toll on Aaron's mental health and his relationship with Robert when he visits him in prison not being able to show he's real and be honest with himself.
The moment Aaron was introduced to her prison cell mate and then he's gang and witnessing them be horrible to a fellow 'gay' cell mate was bringing Aaron down for sure because all Aaron wanted to do was stand up for him but of course Aaron knew he couldn't risk them finding out about his sexuality!

Special mentions
I am so thankful to Emmerdale for doing a storyline about homophobia within the prison setting and how they will show what happens and how is prison the inmates have such a impact on their daily lives the fact that Emmerdale have chose Aaron because he's been through a lot and thanks to Robert is now such a stronger character, but I just hope the prison journey doesn't pull Robert and Aaron apart when Aaron needs Robert the most?
But I pray Robert stays true to his word and is there for Aaron when he needs him the most, and that he will! This storyline will happen Aaron a more stronger person in time for sure and with Robert's support and love they can get through anything let's be honest!

Danny Miller, Ryan Hawley, Isobel Steele and Lucy Pargeter deserve so much praise for this week's episode... Bring on the Award ceremonies for the nominations guys!

These episodes of Emmerdale aired between Monday 20th - Friday 24th February on ITV.
