JOE TATE RETURNS TO EMMERDALE AFTER 6 YEARS

Image
With Joe Tate last since on Emmerdale back in October 2018, today's Christmas Eve episode (24th December) saw the character return to the show. Joe was revealed as the man who has been pulling the strings behind Peter and Will's plans to bring down Kim Tate. Photo Credit: ITV/ Emmerdale With Ned Porteous reprising this role, Joe's arrival is set to send shockwaves through not just Home Farm, but the whole village.  Why does this excite me? On his return, Ned Porteous teased: “I’m so excited to be returning to Emmerdale. There’s a lot of unfinished business for Joe, and it feels like the right time for him to make a comeback. Joe has always been a character with a dark side, but there could be something much bigger at play here. Joe is back for a reason, and the devastation at Home Farm is just the beginning of a much bigger story. It’s safe to say the audience can expect fireworks this holiday season!” A flashforward scene to be aired on Christmas Day (25th December) shows ...

*MY OPINION* WHY BRINGING LAUREN BOLTON AND MAX PLATT TOGETHER IS GREAT IN A TIME WHERE THEY NEED ONE ANOTHER

Image
Since the very moment Lauren Bolton was introduced to us viewers back on 2nd November 2022, it is safe to say that the character has had her fair share of difficult and controversial storylines. However, it is 2024 that has seen the character have her toughest following the birth of her son, Frankie at the beginning of August who was last month released from hospital following 3 months in hospital since his premature birth. Thinking back to November 2022 and the moment Lauren Bolton and Max Turner were placed on screen together you could see this rollercoaster of a friendship forming which has since been through a lot with Max being the only constant in her life since arriving, this is something I am pleased Coronation Street kept allowing for Cait Fitton and Paddy Bever to create a brilliant friendship on and off screen which delivers brilliantly on screen. *MY OPINION* WHY BETSY SWAIN'S ARRIVAL THIS YEAR HAS BEEN INTERESTING

Image
Ever since Betsy Swain's arrival to the cobbles of Coronation Street earlier this year, viewers to the Weatherfield based soap have seen Betsy become more vulnerable when it comes to Joel Deering's actions as well as in scenes that have seen her open up about her own ordeal alongside her relationship becoming stronger with her mum. When Betsy first arrived we didn't really know much, but as the year as gone on we have learnt a lot which I think explains so much. At the beginning of August for me saw Betsy really come into her own as Joel Deering finally realised who Betsy Swain's mother was aka DS Swain which I think threw him, but Betsy showing her fun and mysterious side with Mason Radcliffe which weirdly helped both of them out, however as the weeks continued you could see the attention seeking side. However, it wasn't long before Betsy started to blackmail Joel as she became feisty/ sassy as the week went on, but by the following week her vulnerability was shini...

COMING UP ON CORONATION STREET OVER THE FESTIVE PERIOD: LAUREN ADMITS SHE'S SCARED AHEAD OF THE TRIAL

Image
Between Monday 23rd December and Friday 3rd January visits to the cobbles based soap, Coronation Street viewers will see Lauren Bolton admit just how scared she really is and are we really surprised after the year she has had? However one thing is for sure, Max Turner determined to stand by his girlfriend. Over the festive period, Dee-Dee Bailey asks Alya Nazir for news on Lauren Bolton's plea hearing as she talks through the possibility of her unborn baby being a suitable match for Frankie. Lauren's solicitor warns her that pleading not guilty the case will go to trial which will see them rake over her unsavoury past. Visiting Lauren in prison, Max Turner warns her that if she pleads guilty for a lesser sentence, but Frankie will grow up thinking that his Mum killed his Dad when it's not true, but the question reminds what will Lauren decide to do? Cait Fitton who plays Lauren recently sat down to talk about her character Lauren's year and how she felt about the past 1...

COMING UP ON CORRIE OVER THE FESTIVE PERIOD: CARLA AND LISA FACE A TOUGH FEW WEEKS

Image
Over recent weeks, Carla Connor and Lisa Swain after been through a lot both individually and together but this Christmas things are set to become more official in-between all the Betsy Swain drama. In the run up to Christmas, Lisa Swain confronts her daughter, Betsy Swain after finding a picture of Mason Radcliffe taken in Betsy's room on social media. Amongst the drama, Carla Connor announces to the factory staff about her and Lisa are now an item which sees Betsy make a sarcastic remark leaving Lisa mortified!  Let's be honest here Betsy is struggling with Becky's death but doesn't seem willing to be open and honest about her feelings. Carla invites Betsy to join her and Lisa at the Bistro for dinner and suggests they all start afresh, but when Betsy shows up with Mason....  How will Lisa react? Photo Credit: ITV/ Coronation Street In the run up to the New Year,  its all kicks off as Betsy and Lisa move in with Carla following a flooded flat, Carla sees some files in...

*MY OPINION* WHY ISABELLE SMITH HAS BEEN A BRILLIANT ADDITION TO HOLLYOAKS 2024

Image
It's crazy to think that Isabelle Smith  only arrived on our screens back in January as Frankie Osborne seeing the character involved in hard-hitting storyline for her character, however since  February, Frankie has had tough relationship with Osborne family especially Nancy and Jack which looking back now you can see the cries for help with her moods, attitude, and vulnerability that have changed over the past year, but her relationship with her father, Darren was great to see develop. However, o ne of my favourite moments came as Frankie learnt sign language to communicate with Oscar allowing for the caring side to the character to come through. As soon as Frankie Osborne arrived in the village with her twin JJ in January, I remember this scared character slowly seeing her sadness explained. Back in the middle of August, Hollyoaks viewers saw the most vulnerable scenes from Frankie has her ordeal was finally revealed as Darren picked up on the look that JJ gave Frankie durin...

COMING UP ON CORONATION STREET: LAUREN FACES SOME UPSETTING NEWS

Image
Coming up on the cobbles based soap between 16th - 20th December, Coronation Street viewers will that Lauren Bolton is set for another tense week -  someone please give the character some happiness! (Yes, I know it's a soap!) The tough week begins when Lauren Bolton is given the results for her son, Frankie's blood tests as she reveals to Max Turner that her son's condition is worse than they first thought. Later in the hospital car park, Joel Deering's parents approach Max but what are they after?  Why am I thinking that there is something more to this than what we already know. During a recent interview when asked about what is it in Max that Lauren can trust, Cait Fitton stated  “Max and Lauren have been through so much together and although they are trauma bonded, they also just have so much love for each other. Max has been the only person in Lauren's life that has always respected her and put her first, and that’s why he's the only person in the world that...

COMING UP ON EMMERDALE: AFTER 13 YEARS AMELIA LEAVES

Image
Following Daisy Campbell's announcement what she is leaving Emmerdale after first appearing on our screens on 19th July, 2011 meaning she has played Amelia Spencer for 13 and a half years. Daisy has been apart of many high profile storylines including Amelia's teen pregnancy back in 2022, as well as her recent relationship. It's fair to say that over her time on the show and following her father Dan Spencer's relationship with Kerry Wyatt, Amelia and Kerry have become extremely close and have supported one another through the good and bad situations they have both found themselves in - whether that's in a great way or being able to offer each other wise words. In a couple of week's time during a visit to the Emmerdale village, Amelia Spencer will announce her plans to move away from the village. Photo Credit: ITV/ Emmerdale With Amy Wyatt having decided to throw a last-minute goodbye party for Amelia, Amelia is soon left rather upset when Kerry fails to show up....

CAIT FITTON TALKS ABOUT THE LAST 12 MONTHS FOR HER CHARACTER

Image
With Lauren Bolton having had an extremely tough 2024, the character is currently in prison for killing Joel Deering it's no surprise that Lauren is struggling even though she has been reunited with her son, Frankie in the mother and baby unit as well as being supported by her boyfriend, Max Turner who has also offered to help with Frankie. Cait Fitton who plays Lauren recently sat down to talk about her character Lauren's year and how she felt about the past 12 months saying   “It’s definitely been exhausting but also very rewarding. Mainly because I wanted to do it well, and to do it well, you need to know the story inside out. I did a lot of research. I also worked with charities to make sure I got the story right. I feel like I've now got to the point where I’m getting a bit more control back and can focus on what’s now for Lauren, because she’s a completely different person than she was prior to leaving, or even coming back. She's now killed someone and that’s goin...
