Happy Sunday!

I am so very excited to be bringing you this interview with the extremely talented U.S. Country Singer/ Song-writer Dakota Danielle who a couple of weeks ago released her latest single One Day, Closer To You which is one song at the moment, I am able to relate too so much it was an honour to ask her about the single.

Good Afternoon, Dakota. Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview with me.
How are you?
Good afternoon! Thank you for this interview, I have been looking forward to it :)
I am doing good, staying busy!
That's good to hear, Dakota.

Before we go any further, could I please ask you to introduce yourself to our readers?
Yes! I would love too :)
My name is Dakota Danielle and I am a country singer/songwriter from Teutopolis, IL. I have been in Nashville for three years.

You recently released your latest single One Day, Closer To You, it very much feels like it is a very personal song - is it?
Yes, this song is very personal. It is a difficult song for me to sing and perform, but has help me heal in so many ways.

What encouraged you to write the song?
My mother passed away a year ago from a heart attack. It was a shock and I moved back home to IL to care for my dad who had stage 4 lung cancer. I didn't know how to express my emotions of my mother's loss so while caring for my dad I would write my feelings down in a journal. The first trip back I took to Nashville I told my best friend I really wanted to write this song called "One Day Closer To You" for my mother's birthday. We finished the song using everything I had written down in my journal; it was a special moment for me. My dad passed away two months ago and now this song is dedicated to both of them. Being an only child my parents were my best friends and I feel lost without them, but this song has helped me so much.

One Day, Closer To You is one very special song to me from the moment I first heard it, so thank you!
No thank you! It warms my heart knowing my song is touching others. I hope it helps people heal like it is currently helping me through a difficult time in my life.
In my opinion it most definitely will touch others because it's true what they say music really does heal us in times of trouble.

I am intrigued to know how long it could you to write? What was the recording process like for the song? Was it tough?
This song did not take long to write at all. I had most of the words I wanted to say written down already in my journal, but I would say overall 1 - 2 hours to write. The recording process for this song was great; produced and mixed by Robbie Artress. He really connected with what this song meant to me and I could not have asked for a better person to help me bring this song to life.

Did you always know you wanted to release One Day, Closer To You as a single?
Yes, the moment I finished this song I knew I wanted to release it on my Mother's birthday as a gift to her. This year was her first birthday without her here and me releasing this song helped me get through that hard day.

And finally before I let you go I have to ask you about your plans for 2019?
Thank you so much for having me! My plans for 2019 are to really dive into writing music and performing. I would like to start traveling various places to see the world and meet new people. Life is short and I have so many places I have not been. I look forward to growing my fan base and releasing more music for the world to hear :)
And this is something I am very excited about this then. Please come to the UK!

Thank you so much for your time today, Dakota - I am very grateful.
